ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
For a long time, I have ever dreamed to enter An Giang Radio – Television
Station with all inherent ability. In the past two months, I had an opportunity to
experience as well as got challenges for my internship in ATV, so I want to give the
most sincere thanks to whole people who supported for myself during the internship.
First of all, I would like to give deepest thanks to An Giang University which has
been close in four years. Specially, I really thank Mrs. Dương Thị Diễm Phúc –
internship instructor, teacher of the faculty of foreign languages in AGU where has
brung up and developed many youth’s dreams.
Secondly, I want to give my gratitude to Mrs. Phùng Thị Kim Ngọc who has
supported for myself in translation and also gave some feedbacks after each
assignments. Beside that, i am grateful my internship group respectfully, we had a
special and meaningful working time together.
Thirdly, My family always follows as well as never give up me, I think that this is
the time to thank all family’s members for their contribution. My family has made
many advantaged conditions that competely, I can focus on the internship.
In general, I want to spend whole thanks and gratitudes to everyone who create

INTRODUCTION AND AIM OF THE REPORT
Translation is interesting and popular in recent years. It occurs in many fields
in companies, schools, enterprise,… Students after graduating will have great
opportunities to approach with customs, cultures, behaviors from different countries.
Therefore, I decided to choose An Giang Radio – Television Station for my
internship. After training, I hope to improve myself, especially are in translation’
skills such as new vocabulary, structures in translation, listening and speaking.
The aim of this report is making challenges for myself in translation working,
looking my abilities of English during the two months of internship. I can see a
general view through translation activities. As a result, I can find advantages and
disadvantages, even some lessons for myself.

Constantly, An Giang Radio – Television Station is developing and improving the
quality of the sound, images as well as showed contents. ATV’s program design is
diversified that people can choose watching appopriate programs.
Radio program
Listeners can hear morning, afternoon and evening news in news
program through radio. In majors and categories, the listeners can also enjoy ‘Radio
story’, ‘Sport category’ or ‘Enjoying the life’. Beside that, many others such as
‘Bolero at weekend’, ‘Childhood garden’ or ‘Ancient music’can be easy to find in
Music and Relaxation.
Television program
There are many Television program to enjoy such as ‘Lastest News’,
‘Music Styles’, ‘Talkshow’, ‘M4U’. Especially, ATV has also invested and
developed ‘Khmer Program’ successfully.
Humanitarian television program
ATV informs listeners of kind actions helping the poor to break out of
hard situation. Periodically, many sponsors connect to ATV in bringing happiness to
people in An Giang province and helping them to improve their life. Many following
programs are ‘ Home for the poor’, ‘From heart to heart’, ‘Support to go to school’.

News program
ATV reports news in An Giang province, news in the country, Social –
Political, Market Economics, Entertainment Culture, World news, Sport, Life.

2. History of ATV


On September 2, 1977, at 5:00 a.m, the first radio program of An Giang
Radio was established and broadcasted on AM 1170 Khz in Long Xuyen
town, Long Xuyen city now

On March 25, 1993, the People's Committee of the province decided to
exchage from An Giang Radio Station into An Giang Radio - Television
Station, but had not yet broadcasted any television programs, ATV only
focused on collaborating with Can Tho Radio – Television Station to improve
radio quality.



On August 19, 1998, An Giang Radio - Television officially broadcasted
television on 36 UHF channel.



September 2, 2009, ATV brang television waves to cable television system in
region and Ho Chi Minh City.




On January 1, 2011, there was an inauguration of An Giang Radio and
Television Technical Center.



On January 1, 2012, the 93.1 Mhz FM radio frequency was officially
broadcasted.



On January 2, 2012, the website of An Giang Radio and Radio Station was
put into operation:



In May 2013, ATV2 was tried to start is a Khmer ethnic-style channel that
was broadcasted on channel 8 VHF




On June 1, 2013, ATV2 was officially broadcasted with time 15 / 24h (05h00
- 12h00, 16h00 - 24h00), Khmer language.
On April 1, 2018, ATV2 stopped broadcasting.



On January 1, 2019, ATV aired on the channel in HD format.




On January 1, 2020, ATV covered radio waves to broadcast FM at 93.1 MHz
frequency in the Mekong Delta region.

II. Satellite Team:
Satellite team is a working place getting news to traslate and bring
information to people. Satellite team is belong to Program Department of ATV.
In Satellite team room, there are 4 -5 people working at day shift and night shift.

B. Internship work
I. Internship activities
In working in groups, Mrs. Phùng Thị Kim Ngọc sent us fives
translation assignments. It was devided into two translation forms, translating
from English into Vietnamese (four assignments) and vice versa (one
assignment). Each assignments had about 2 – 3 exercises.
I will report my group translation for every assignments at first, after that
there are attached corrections and comments from Mrs. Ngọc.
Assignment 1:
EXERCISE 1: (On February 24)
EU, UK DEAL GIVES GRACE PERIOD FOR ECO CARS.
The European union and the United Kingdom have agreed on a grace
period before placing full tariffs on hybrid and electric vehicles made with

parts from outside the area. The free trade deals struck between the two on
Thursday airms to zero tariffs on goods traded between Britain and Eu from
January 1st. But sufficient local contents is needed to qualify, levy these are
imposed on cars with more than 45% of their parts are sourced from outside,
the two sides agree on 6 years phase in approach for autos seen as ecofriendly, vehicles with their ratio up to 60% of the outside parts will be tarifffree until 2023. It’ll be reduced 55% from 2024 to 2026 and reverse to 45%
in 2027. The timeline might impact Japanese car-maker such as Toyota
motors and Nissan motors, their sample hybrid and electric vehicle oversea
using major components imported from Japan. This means the company
needs to raise their local content to avoid future terrors.

Liên minh Châu Âu và Vương Quốc Anh đã đồng ý về thời gian gia hạn
trước khi áp dụng các luật thuế đầy đủ đối với các dòng xe động cơ hybrid và xe
điện với những nguyên liệu được lấy từ bên ngoài khu vực. Các thỏa thuận
thương mại tự do được ký kết giữa hai bên vào hôm thứ năm được đưa ra nhằm
để giảm thuế quan đối với hàng hóa được giao dịch giữa Anh và Eu từ ngày một
tháng một. Nhưng cần phải đáp ứng đủ yếu tố nội địa để đủ điều kiện, các loại
thuế này được áp dụng đối với những chiếc xe có hơn 45% bộ phận của chúng
có nguồn gốc từ bên ngồi, hai bên đồng ý trong giai đoạn 6 năm trong việc tiếp
cận những chiếc ô tô được coi là thân thiện với môi trường với tỉ lệ lên đến 60%
các bộ phận bên ngoài sẽ được miễn thuế cho đến năm 2023. Nó sẽ được giảm
55% từ năm 2024 đến năm 2026 và trở lại cịn 45% vào năm 2027. Giai đoạn
này có thể ảnh hưởng đến các nhà sản xuất ô tô Nhật Bản như Toyota và Nissan.

China Demographic
Lots of people are going on Chinese social media to talk about the
possibility that China might end the two-childs policy. The National Health
Commission said the idea code was explored particularly in northeastern China
that region is experienced in demographic crisis, the birth rate is among the
lowest in the world, the National help commission is encouraging northeast
provinces to look-in to fully removing limits in the family size, it’s also wants to
research how that might affect economic growth and social stability.

Nhân khẩu Trung Quốc
Nhiều người dùng mạng xã hội ở Trung Quốc đang bàn về vấn đề chính
phủ có thể sẽ chấm dứt chính sách 2 con. Ủy ban Y tế quốc gia Trung Quốc cho
biết ý tưởng được khai thác đặc biệt là ở những vùng Đông Bắc Trung Quốc nơi
mà đang chịu khủng hoảng về nhân khẩu, tỷ lệ sinh tại đây đang nằm

ở mức thấp nhất trên thế giới. Ủy ban Y tế quốc gia đang khuyến khích các
tỉnh ở khu vực Đơng Bắc về việc loại bỏ hoàn toàn những giới hạn về số
lượng của các thành viên trong gia đình, cùng với đó là xem xét điều này có
ảnh hưởng thế nào đến việc tăng trưởng kinh tế và ổn định xã hội.

Vaccine ADB TO SUPPORT ASIA-PACIFIC VACCINATIONS

The Asian Development Bank will offer financial help to developing
nations as they look to vaccinate their people against COVID. ADB president
Asakawa Masatsugu said: “System for vaccine transportation and management
needs huge investment”. He said support will come through a 9 billion dollar
vaccine initiative, the bank launched late last year. Meanwhile, the ADB says it
has offered nearly 10 billion dollars in emergency financial aid by December to
cut chase Indonesia and Philippines where the virus continues to spread.
Recipients also included Thailand and the Maldives where the pandemic has hit
tourism hard. Asakawa says the ADB will come up with new measures if that’s
necessary to encourage the stable economic growth in the regions.

Assignment 2:
EXERCISE 2: (On February 28)
There were three exercises in assignment 2: US-China, US-China-Huawai,
US-Japan. I faced lots of difficuties in US-China-Huawai and it was interesting foe
myself.
US - CHINA - HUAWEI.
The move by the US to tighten sanctions on the Chinese telecom giant Huawei has Beijing climbing unreasonable suppression. The US Department of
Commerce announced a new rule on Friday. Now products made with
semiconducting manufacturing equipment from the US, can not be sold to Huawei,
even if those products come from a third country. US firms are already banned from
doing business with Huawei, and its Affiliates , unless they get special authorization.
They went into force last May. Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Zhao Li
Shang says - the US needs to immediately stop suppression on Huawei and other
Chinese firms. He also said Beijing will firmly defend the legal rights of Chinese
companies. A newspaper affiliated with the Chinese Communist party quotes a
source close to the government saying: “China will take forceful countermeasures”.
The Global times report that those countermeasures will include investigation into
restrictions on US companies like Qualcomm, Cisco and Apple. Planned purchases
of Boeing aircraft will also be canceled.

Hoa Kỳ - Trung Quốc - Huawei
Động thái thắt chặt trừng phạt của Mỹ đối với gã khổng lồ viễn thông Trung
Quốc Huawei khi Bắc Kinh tuyên bố đàn áp vô lý. Bộ thương mại Hoa Kỳ đã công
bố một quy định mới vào thứ Sáu rằng các sản phẩm được làm bằng thiết bị sản xuất
bán dẫn từ Mỹ không được bán cho Huawei ngay cả khi những sản phẩm đó đến từ

nước thứ ba. Mỹ đã ngừng những hoạt động kinh doanh thương mại với Huawei và

Assignment 3: (On March 9th)
EXERCISE 3:
UN Agency: World lost 8.8% working hours in 2020
The international labor organization estimates that 8.8% of global working hours
were lost in 2020 compared to before the pandemic. The Geneva-based Un agency
released the latest estimate on monday. The report says the loss was equivalent to 225
million full-time jobs. “This should be the most civilian crisis for the world of work,
since the great depression of 1930, its impact is far greater than that of the global
financial crisis 2009”. Among the hardest were the young workers from the 15-24, the
employment loss among this age group stood at 8.7% compared to 3.7% for those

25 or older. The report also says women have been more affected than men,

accomodation and food services were the hardest hit sector. The agency projects that
most countries will experience relatively strong recovery in the second half of 2021
as vaccination programs take effect. But the general-director says the world will not
get back to where it was before the pandemic even under the most optimistics
scenario. He calls for full target measure for the hardest hit group.

Tổ chức Lao động Quốc tế ước tính rằng 8,8% số giờ làm việc trên toàn cầu
đã bị mất vào năm 2020 trước khi đại dịch diễn ra. Cơ quan Liên Hợp Quốc đặt trụ

I made mistakes in this news and I received some comments from Mrs. Ngọc.
Comments from Mrs. Ngọc: You have to write capital letter for name of organization
in the first exercise 1. You need to expand your vocabulary as well as ways to
ultilise words, you should listen much news on Tv to improve that. In US GDP, you
all are better. In the last exercise, you have not conveyed the content. You will be

provided a conference that it will help you smoothly translate.

EXERCISE 4
Russia vaccine
Russia approves its third covid-19 vaccine
The government officials in Russia have approved 1/3 domestically developed
Coronavirus vaccine. The country’s Prime Minister announced on Saturday that their
product happened even in the greenlife developed by the Russia academy of sciences.
An official there said the facility last made a new vaccine available internationally. The
country has already said it’s pooping vehicle Coronavirus vaccine to a number of
nations. It was approved last August but Mossow have faced criticism for the failing of
fully disclosed. But the clinical data health authorities have set up a very vaccination
size in the capital to encourage more people to get the shot.

Các quan chức chính phủ ở Nga đã phê duyệt 1/3 vắc-xin coronavirus được
phát triển trong nước, Thủ tướng nước này hôm thứ Bảy đã thông báo rằng vaccine
đã được phát triển bởi Viện Hàn lâm Khoa học Nga một cách khơng chính thức.
Vaccine đã được phê duyệt vào tháng 8 năm ngoái nhưng Moscow đã phải đối mặt
với những lời chỉ trích vì khơng cơng bố đầy đủ tình trạng các dữ liệu lâm sàng. Các
cơ quan y tế đã thiết lập nhiều điểm tiêm chủng với quy mô lớn ở thủ đơ để khuyến
khích người dân đến tiêm.

EXERCISE 5: (On March 14)
Our group was required to exchange Vietnamese paragraphs into English’s.
I will show you a typical paragraph in all four exercises.

1. Nói câu “cảm ơn” là một thói quen lịch sự mà hầu hết mọi người học được từ rất
sớm, nhưng thật sự truyền lịng biết ơn của mình đến người khác cần nhiều ý chí và
nỗ lực hơn. Bạn có thể thể hiện những gì mình cảm nhận khơng? Hãy dành thời gian
để nghĩ về những hành động thể hiện lời cảm ơn của mình - chúng sẽ được ghi nhận
và cảm kích.
Saying "thank you" is a polite habit that most people learn very early on, but actually
transmitting their gratitude to others takes more will and effort. Can you show what
you feel? Take some time to think about your actions to express your gratitude - they
will be acknowledged and appreciated.

‘how’ instead of ‘what’in the question above.
On March 19, I received a word file with the content below, I must seriously
record. The most important was that I needed to show international pronunciation,
and great intonation. I felt that this individual assignment was not difficult for
myself while I was expressing.

Fortunately, I and my team came in their working time. Later, Our team got
opportunity to take photos with Mrs. Thủy Ngân and Mrs. Ngọc who are ATV’s
announcers and translators.
