ABSTRACT
Automatic bathroom lights is a complete system
whose main function is to turn on and off the light when
someone enters or exits the bathroom, it includes digital
IC, control sensor, power source.
Most bathrooms in Vietnam are designed in a closed space, so
there is little light coming inside. Today, on the market, there are many
types of lights that have good illumination but mainly use switches to turn
them on and off, which makes it very difficult for people to find the
switch in the dark. And if you are someone who forgets to turn off the
electricity, your electricity bill will be quite high. With this sign every
time we need to use the toilet or bathroom, especially in the dark. With a
laser sensor, every time someone enters or exits the bathroom or toilet,
the light will automatically turn on and off to save electricity and not
waste you having to find the light switch at night.
In the future technology will lead the way and this circuit will be

a part of it. In addition to this circuit application in the family, it can also
be used in hospitals to help patients easily move in the hospital. Not only
that, it also saves electricity and protects the environment

11

`

CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION
I. PROBLEM

STATEMENT

The main theme of this project is about the automatic light on and off
system and our improvement to suit the environment and conditions of
the home and hospital. It is a device that automatically turns the lights on
and off when someone comes in and out. Today, it is widely applied in
smart home systems. The automatic mode saves energy and is convenient
for the user, with very little damage
II. CASE

STUDY AND CONSTRAINTS

Vietnam is a country with an area that is not too large,
while the population is very large. Therefore, bathrooms or
toilets are often designed in a minimalist manner, the
space is usually an enclosed space, so it will be very dark
even at night or during the day, so they often design LED

lights to illuminate those spaces. For adults, turning on the
switch will not be a problem, but for children, the elderly
and especially the patients, it will be very difficult. In
addition, many people have the habit of forgetting to turn
off the electricity after using the toilet, which wastes
electricity, so the automatic bathroom light system will
help you solve the above problems.
III. DESCRIPTION

OF THE PROJECT

12 is to focus on automatic lights on and off.
The purpose of this project

From there, it shows the superiority of the system compared to turning on
and off the bathroom lights automatically. Towards the safety and

`

convenience of people, saving energy and protecting the environment,
helping people get closer to comfort and convenience in daily life.

V. METHODOLOGY
1. Time Management:
Time management is defined as organizing or planning how long you

spend your time in specific activities. It is the main key of this project.
Because effective time management permits me to distribute specific time
slots to activities as per their importance. It also affects cost and quality.
In this project, each stage is planned by specific time. Begin with agree
title and brief, then do the literature survey and find the solutions,
materials selections, implementation, write report and presentation.

2. Cost Management:
Cost management requires the project must be accomplished on time
and accepted budget. We can do some activities like evaluating,
budgeting, financing, funding, etc. to improve the cost. Components and
materials need to be defined to manage.

CHAPTER 2
LITERATURE REVIEW
2.1. Background
2.1.1. Integrated circuits
An integrated circuit or monolithic integrated circuit (also referred to
15

as an IC, a chip, or a microchip) is a set of electronic circuits on one small
flat piece (or "chip") of semiconductor material, usually silicon. Large

`

numbers of tiny MOSFETs integrate into a small chip. This results in
circuits that are orders of magnitude smaller, faster, and less expensive
than those constructed of discrete electronic components. The IC's mass
production capability,

reliability,

and

building-block

approach

to integrated circuit design has ensured the rapid adoption of standardized
ICs in place of designs using discrete transistors. ICs are now used in
virtually all electronic equipment and have revolutionized the world
of electronics. Computers, mobile

phones,

and

other

digital home

appliances are now inextricable parts of the structure of modern societies,
made possible by the small size and low cost of ICs.
IC is also known as integrated circuit, the use of IC is extremely great
because: Integrated circuit will help reduce the size of electrical circuits a
lot, besides the accuracy is increased. IC can be said to be a very
important part of logic circuits. There are quite a few types of ICs,
programmable and fixed-function, and there are non-programmable ones.
Each IC has its own environmental properties such as temperature,

voltage limit, working capacity, all recorded in the datasheet of the
manufacturer that created it.
2.1.2. 555 timer IC
The 555 timer IC is an integrated circuit (chip) used in a variety of timer,
delay, pulse generation, and oscillator applications. Derivatives provide
two (556) or four (558) timing circuits in one package. It was
commercialized in 1972 by Signetics. Numerous companies have made
the original bipolar timers and similar low-power CMOS timers too. In
2017, it was said over a billion 555 timers are produced annually by some
16

estimates, and "probably the most popular integrated circuit ever made."
2.1.3. Power Management IC

`

The power iC is designed to regulate, convert, and stabilize the current
and voltage passing through it. An iC power supply can multiply a given
voltage, divide from a desired voltage source and generate the desired
power at the output voltage.
2.1.4 Inverting circuit
is a type D flip-flops which is internally composed of 2 type D flip-flops
with two steady states. Inputs are used to change the 0 and 1 states. Each
flip-flop has independent data, set, reset, and clock inputs. Setup or reset
is clock independent and is performed by a high level on the
corresponding set or set line.
2.2. Research and review of an existing system (device)
Automatic control of WC lights using 1 PIR sensor and 1 door sensor
This plan uses Hass to control. Communication with zigbee sensor via

USB zigbeemqtt2. Equipment: 1 PIR sensor (I use Tuya's zigbee sensor Square type, 3 AAA batteries), 1 Xiaomi Aqara zigbee door sensor - The
cost of 2 sensors is about 550k
First, a little about the device:
+ Aqara's door sensor is ok, no need to pay attention
+ PIR sensor - motion sensor detects by infrared waves. When there is an
object with body temperature moving, the PIR will detect the movement
and report the status of people (on state). Conversely, if the moving part
is obscured (most often when brushing teeth, washing face), the sensor
still says no one (off state). Delay - Delay: on -> off - 1ph, off -> on - 5s
Automatic Light On Off Bathroom - Toilet | Smart House
17 anti-theft when someone enters the room
The application can alarm

without the permission of the owner. When the homeowner returns to the

`

room, there will be a remote control to turn off the anti-theft protection
mode.
It's really useful when stealing Phone/Laptop in the room happens often
in many places such as Hostels, apartment rooms,...
- eChipKool electronics meets all of the above needs, bringing products
that satisfy customers, bringing peace of mind to your home.
- PIR 501 motion sensor 3 meters away, 110 degrees wide angle, with 2
rheostats to adjust Sensitivity and Delay light on
Intelligent toilet with auto sensing device
The bathroom, in addition to serving the necessary needs of people, also
contributes to perfecting the overall beauty of the house. With smart toilet
equipment originating from famous domestic and foreign brands, it brings

modernity and comfort to your home.
