Paper book and E-book
When it comes to books, there is an explicit word to illustrate a sudden and prevalent feeling:
“readgret”. This word is a unique combination of “read” and “regret”; hence, it describes the
mood filled with nostalgia and the desire to extend the book when the reader has just finished
reading an impressive book. With book lovers, reading paper books or e-books can both cause
this feeling. However, there are some differences between paper book and e-book. Firstly, the
money needed to afford a paper book is deliberately higher than that for an e-book. The price of
a paper book incorporates not only the royalties of which every legal book consists but also
book’s materials costs, transport charges and some deprived expenses. E-book price, in
contrast, does not comprises those elements. Secondly, each type of book has specific facilities
which are considered appropriate for individuals in miscellaneous situations. Paper book keeps
people from being distracted into the software and social networks, which enhances reading
efficiency and concentrating competence. Moreover, once people buy printed books, the books
belong to the owners, which encourages people to pass them and spread the knowledge
without concerning infringements. On the other hand, there are convenient features that e-book
brings about. Thanks to the technology revolution, cutting-edge devices are invented; hence,
even a small e-reader or smartphone can contain thousands of e-books, which make reading
become easier than ever. People could absorb knowledge through e-books in almost all
situations without worrying about external circumstances such as light and wind. In conclusion,
paper book and e-book have differences which could be advantages or disadvantages to
individuals. Readers have the discretion to decide to use whether both materials or just one of
them.
