Exordium
Internship is one of the most important and indispensable subjects which is
practical for any students. In the internship period in Vinh Ha Food Processing and
Construction JSC, I have opportunities to approach the real working environment in
the company; also study and experience before accession to the future job.
My following six-week internship at the Department of Trading was an
interesting experience and important milestone in my study at International School.
I would like to express my gratitude to the support from Ms. Phuong Duyen, my
supervisor, as well as other staffs at Department of Trading, Vinh Ha Company. I
also praise all the efforts that our classmate have done in the internship period. We
have shared the knowledge, the ideas and the cooperation, and this was how we can
finish the Internship and complete the report. I hope to receive all the support for
years to come. This is very important that the sharing and connecting to the
practical work will be helpful for our future jobs.

The foundation and development of the Vinh Ha Company
Vinh Ha Company was established on May 8 1993 by Decision No. 44 NN / DOPDecision of the Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry or "Ministry of Agriculture and
Rural Development". The company has continually developed and gained high
achievements . Here are some of the important milestones of the Company:
- 1993: On January 8th, 1993, the Company was founded as the Food and Transportation
Company - a direct subsidiary of the Central Food Company 1.
- 1996: The Company merged with the Materials and Food Packaging Company.
- 2000: The Company merged with the Construction and Food Company.
- 2001: The Company merged with several units of the Union of Hanoi Food Companies.
On June 5th, 2001, the Company changed its name to Vinh Ha Food ProcessingConstruction and Transportation Company
- 2006: The Company changed its name to Vinh Ha Food Processing and Construction
Joint Stock Company with registered capital of VND 43 billion.
- 2012: Vinh Ha Food Processing and Construction Joint Stock Company raised its
registered capital to VND 215 billion.
Through 20 years of development, the Company has gained outstanding achievements,
contributing to the economic development of the country.

In present, the organization structure of Vinh Ha Company has been fairly completed,
promoted its key functions and working it well, both in foreign and domestic; satisfying
foreign affair work requirements.

Chapter 2: Production and business activities of the company
I.
Business’ strategy
In the next 5 years, Company is focusing on lands, warehouses, development of
traditional and strengthened agricultural products; restructuring the Company in the
simple ways; streamlining the system and rearranging human resource.
Moreover, it is also looking for other business products and service to expand new
business items to solve jobs for workers.
II.
Process of chain value
1. Supply and logistic operation
Supply chain management associated with virtually all business operations of the
production, from the planning and management process of sourcing, procurement,
production of final products… to work in collaboration with partners, suppliers, channels,
intermediaries, service providers and customers.
As the Food Processing and Construction Company, supply chain and logistics are one of
the most important sectors of the business. In general, information flow and product flow
are as follow:

2. Producing and supplying service
Producing and supplying service management are not the simple sectors. On the one hand,
the diversified demands of customers lead to diversified qualities and services. However,
those demands are changing very quickly.
In this sector, Vinh Ha Company has a separated department which is in charge in
supervising where the sources are from and how the production line works.
Quality management is formed based on the need to limit the errors or omission in
manufacturing products. Previously, manufacturers often check product quality in the final
stages. This technique has given rise to charges, especially when scaling up production,
and still have errors, omissions. Therefore, new ways have been used as quality control,
quality assurance, quality management and quality control synthesis.
3. Distribution
Products are transfers by trucks, planes and service company like DHL… from the
factories to the customers. They are merchants, other food factories and final retailers such
as final customers. The international markets of Vinh Ha Company are China, Afican
countries, USA, Brazil, India and Argentina, so how to distribute products and services is
the chain of activities which require a good plan. Besides, Vinh Ha Company focuses on
saving costs but still working well in everything.
4. Sales and marketing
In this field, Vinh Ha Company does not focus much on marketing. They put attention to
how to satisfy the customers in best products and services. Vinh Ha Company has its
certain markets and is going to expand it in the future.

5. Customer service
The field of customer service is one of my work in Trading Department. Our
responsibilities in here is to take the phones from customers, receiving orders, transferring
orders and answering questions. If there are any big problems, we have to move it to the
managers. Our task is guaranteeing the customers’ satisfaction.
6. Corporate management
Corporate management is the large term of any business. Generally, Vinh Ha Company has
its completed system. The objective of corporate management is to ensure a sustainable
and profitable business operation, so the key task of the administrators in any enterprise
must follow:

Develop a positive working environment, create strategic direction.
Allocate and arrange resources
Improve the quality of governance, efforts in organizing
Create perfection in the operation and administration
These tasks help administrators determine the scope of work, set priorities and identify
important relationships between them.
7. Financing and accounting
Financing and accounting play the most important roles of Vinh Ha Company. The bigger
the company is, the more completed in finance is.
A field of accounting that treats money as a means of measuring economic performance
instead of as a factor of production. It encompasses the entire system of monitoring and
control of money as it flows in and out of an organization as assets and liabilities, and
revenues and expenses.
Financial accounting gathers and summarizes financial data to prepare financial reports
such as balance sheet and income statement for the organization's management, investors,
lenders, suppliers, tax authorities, and other stakeholders.
8. Human resource management
This is a function within an organisation concentrated on recruiting, managing and
directing people who work in it. Human Resource Management deals with issues related to
compensation, performance management, organisation development, safety, wellness,

benefits, employee motivation, training and others. HRM plays a strategic role in
managing people and the workplace culture and environment. If effective, it can contribute
greatly to the overall company direction and the accomplishment of its goals and
objectives.
In Vinh Ha Company, people work by top- down style management.
9. Research and development
As the vision of the company, in the next 5 years, Vinh Ha is expanding their products,
services; rearranging labor and restructuring its systems.

Producing and supplying service management
1. Roles
Production management is a combination of construction activities and process of using
inputs required by the client to perform identified targets.
Quality management activities is essential for the production of your business. If the
products and services you provide are inconsistent with the demands of the market, you
may lose customers, then sales and service is reduced, and there are difficulties in
recovering your brand images.
Management is the activities related directly to organization, control and coordination of
resources, in order to achieve goals.
Production management performed by a group of people responsible for the production of
goods and services to society. Production function is a basic function of the enterprise, it
can affect the success and development of the business as it impacts directly on the
products and services provided, affect the cost and quality measure. Than ever for success
and sustainability of business, we need to appreciate the importance of production
management.
2. Strategy
Vinh Ha Company’s production system simply consists of two areas or main activities:
“Production support areas” and “Production areas”.
Production support areas include the parts to undertake tasks such as customers seeking,
production planning, preparation of human resources, equipment, product quality
inspection, storage, sale ...

3. Evaluation
Vinh Ha Company is the big company with over the 20.000 billion VND total income in
2015. In order to make sure every step in the production line works properly, they have
very well teams of management.
The production managers in the enterprise can make business succeed or fail based on their
decisions. In fact, management activities are effective when:

Minimizing input costs while maintaining output
Or keeping the inputs while producing more output
Or just reducing input costs, has increased production output.
The less costly resources, the higher efficiency the production and business.
Chapter 3: Report of internship purpose, work responsibilities and measure
I.
Internship purpose
The recent study by the Association of Universities and NACE demonstrates that students
who have internship experience will have more opportunities to find a job than those who
do not. NACE's study also found that students with internship experience often get a higher
salary at the beginning.
As for myself, the most important goal in the internship at Vinh Ha Food processing and
distribution JSC is to approach the practical work in the real working invironment; getting
experience while study and learn more. In addition, reaching the specialized job in
practical environment also give me chances to discover and develop my ability and my
potential in the future.

Following the six- week period at the Department of Trading, Vinh Ha Company, I was in
charge of these work:
• Receiving documents, phone calls from customers
• Keeping contacts with the partners by mail, e- mail or phone
• Familiarising office tasks such as photocopy, scan, …
• Understading the process of working
• Knowing steps of holding an event and meetings

Measure
1. Delivery of documents
At the beginning of the first working hour, I receive the relevent documents (if any) from
agencies. Then I check the contact information and deliver them to related offices.
Besides, my task was to receive phone calls from customers who wanted to order products
(often wholesale agents), taking notes and then reporting to my department managers. With
respect to some strange calls, I had to ask the leader for help.
2. Keeping contacts with the partners by mail, e- mail or phone
This is actually useful important work for me grasping information and developing my
communication skills. When exchanging information, it requires the ability of controlling
speed, intonation with respectful attitude. When calling to listeners, I must introduce who
and where I am; and then the information should be transferred clearly and fully. Besides,
any information was taken note and report to the Department manager.
3. Familiarising office tasks such as photocopy, scan, …
These are casual works in an office and familiar with a student. Instead of asking for help,
I learnt using machine to do it myself. I also typed documents as leader’s guide.
4. Synthesize information about main events and meetings
This is a familiar work of university students. During student life, we had a lot of events
which gave us experience. However, holding events or meetings at the Company required
more professional work style. I had to collect necessary documents and took note the main
keys for the meeting under the support of the supervisor. Moreover, in the practical
environment, the synthesis of information must be careful, accurately and update.

As a member of Trading Department, along with the main tasks, I had chances to expose
the works to other departments; as well as taking part in various activities. In order to
complete my tasks well, I had to link closely with other people.
Chapter 4: Internship achievements
I.
The strengthened theoretical knowledge
Firstly, the internship period at Vinh Ha Food processing and construction JSC had created
chances for me to deal with English documents and reaching knowledge. Everything about
economy sector had been updated constantly so I had to catch it timely.
In particular, I had the opportunity to approach the practical environment of the subjects I
studied, such as the foundation, development of ASEAN, China – ASEAN,… and the main
topic of Vietnam’s foreign economic affairs.
This application of knowledge into practice helped me understand the external economic
problems, while improving the skills like analysis, synthesis, report. This application of

Skill improvement
Study must be accompanied by practice. During 6-week internship, I was approach an
effective working environment, where the ability and skill of the staffs were promoted. As
the member of Department Of Trading, my main tasks were typing and translation.
Furthermore, I also known how to prepare and answer an email properly. Some office
skills such as words, excel, power point for meetings are significantly improved.
This was the important time for me to change myself from a shy person to a confident one
by developing my communication skills.
