Topic 2: In many countries today, people are living in a “throw-away society” where
things are used for a short time and then thrown away? What do you think are the
causes?
It is increasingly normal for people to buy items such as cell phones and clothes and then
only utilize them for a short amount of time. A variety of factors contribute to this
“throw-away society”, which has a variety of dire consequences, which will be discussed
in the essay below.
First, One of the primary causes of current “throw-away society” is that society is
heavily influenced by marketing, which fosters the mass production and use of shortlived commodities. The market is also crowded with low-cost, specific products, making
it easy to buy in bulk and discard them before they become outdated. Another factor to
consider is that the reason we buy and use consumer goods has shifted over the last
several decades.
Second, Products that are frequently ending up in trash cans will lead trash to become
overloaded with large mountains of waste, only a small proportion of which is
appropriately disposed of to minimize environmental impact.
The remainder of the trash, which is mainly non-recyclable and plastic, is either built
underground or burned. This can lead to increased land and air pollution, as well as direct
harm to the lives of those living in a “throw-away society”. Furthermore, natural
resources used in the production of consumer goods may become exhausted as a result of
the market's insatiable demand for such commodities.
To summarize, modern consumerism is responsible for a “throw-away society” that
continues to destroy our environment and reduces our natural resources.
Topic 1:There is a statement that “money can’t buy happiness.”To which extent do
you agree or disagree with this statement?
In general, happiness is a difficult concept to describe. Everyone evaluates happiness in
their own different way. Some individuals feel that money can buy happiness, while
others believe that it cannot. In my opinion, while having a lot of money gives us more
options for what we can achieve, money can't purchase happiness since money can't buy
love and time.
First and all, money cannot purchase love. A happy existence is frequently the result of
having helpful friends and a caring family. Being with our loved ones adds significance

and happiness to our life. Famous singers in Korea, for example, make a lot of money
every year. Even if they have a lot of money, they are more likely to be making bad
decisions since they are often depressed and lonely.

Second, in the case of people, they frequently have to work really hard in order to make a
lot of money, which means they have less time for their personal life. For example, my
friends work seven days a week and earn a lot of money, but they don't have time for
family or to spend the money they've earned. When I can't use the money I make for
amusement, I consider it useless.
To summarize, while money is important to us, it cannot purchase happiness since love
and quality of life can.
Topic 4: The percentage of overweight children in western society has increased by
almost 20% in the last ten years. Discuss the causes and effects of this disturbing
trend.
The percentage of overweight children in western society has increased by almost 20% in
the last ten years . This essay will look at some of the reasons why this has happened as
well as the repercussions of this worrying behavior.
First, Poor nutrition is the main cause of this problem. The number of fast food
restaurants has expanded dramatically during the last decade. Fast food products such as
fried chicken, pizza, milk tea, and hot dogs, for example, may be found on practically
every main street. The food at these businesses has been found to be very harmful, and
much of the advertising is aimed at children, guaranteeing that kids make up the bulk of
their customers.
However, this is due not only to dining out, but also to the nutritional habits of many
children at home. Foods are frequently eaten, particularly for prepared meals, which are a
quick and convenient alternative for working parents.
Second, the children frequently do not exercise on a daily basis; they simply eat, study,
and go home to lie down and use their phones to play mobile games, so their health is
quite poor and they are easily ill. Furthermore, overweight children are frequently bullied

by other children, which can induce tension and dread.
In conclusion, it is obvious that there are several causes of childhood obesity, as well as a
variety of negative consequences. Society must guarantee that steps are done now and in
the future to avoid this situation from developing.
Topic 6: Compare and contrast your life before and during the COVID-19
pandemic.
Many things have changed since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, affecting
everyone's life. This essay will compare and contrast life before and during the COVID19 pandemic

First, prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, lecturers at Thu Dau Mot University had to go
directly to classrooms to teach, and almost no one used masks. However, everything
changed when the COVID-19 pandemic came out in Vietnam. Teachers and students
were no longer required to teach directly in classrooms; instead, they were required to
educate using online teaching platforms such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom, and while
going out, everyone was required to wear a mask. Not wearing a mask was not a concern
prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, but today you can be penalized for up to 2,000,000
vietnam dong.
Second, previous to the COVID-19 pandemic, we were unable to recognize the true value
of doctors, nurses, and policemen. When COVID-19 was started, they were the first to
volunteer to help the country, regardless of the risk to their own life. COVID-19 has
altered our view about the value of physicians, nurses, and police officers. Furthermore,
many families were still full of members prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, but once the
pandemic began, many families had to lose all relatives and friends.
In short, the COVID-19 pandemic has changed many aspects of each person's career,
life, and family. However, we have been gradually adjusting to the new society and
taking extra care of our loved ones and friends in order to assist this rising society and
fight the COVID-19 pandemic.

Topic 3:Some people think that there should be a free health care system in our

country. To which extent do you agree or disagree?
In many parts of the world, there has been a growing number of populations who are
concerned about a free health care system. It is generally believed that Vietnam needs a
free health care system for its people. This essay attempts to prove that this issue
embraces both agree and disagree. It is argued that the free health care system is
necessary for Vietnamese people. The underlying reason is that it can take care of
everyone's health, especially the poor, children and the elderly in society. For example,
according to the results of a survey carried out by the Vietnamese Youth Union in 2015,
more than 90 percent of people get free medical examination and treatment in rural areas.
This has brought many positives to today's modern life, especially for the poor, who
cannot afford to take care of their own health. We see clearly that this view is not perfect,
but it can solve life's difficulties. Despite the mentioned merits, it is fair to say that there
are certain negative aspects related to free health care system. From my perspective, this
viewpoint is unconvincing because the government cannot pay the cost of health care for
all people because we still have to build roads, schools, hospitals and houses. Evidence
shows that Japan, with the highest percentage of senior citizens in the world, have face

numerous problems related to healthcare, employment and free health care system. This
makes Japan more difficult and complex than many other countries in the world by the
economic burden of the entire free healthcare system. However, this shows that this is a
problem to be solved immediately with the companionship of many countries, many
scientists and the entire people In conclusion, it is understandable that Vietnam needs a
free health care system for its people. However, I entirely support the view of the free
health care system as there will be significant benefits for the general public eventually.
