Topic 2 : Review a movie
“Anne with an E” is a family TV series based on the classic novel “ Anne of Green
Gables” by Canadian author Lucy Maud Montgomery. This film will attract you through its
vibe - healing. The scene of Avonlea village is so glorious and poetic. Everything is
reminiscent of "Wonderland.". In terms of the soundtrack, I swear just listening to the film’s
music and looking at the mountain landscape in the movie is enough to “touch” me.
“Anne with an E” is about a 13-year-old orphaned girl. She is thin, with bright red hair
and freckles. Anne has a temper as fiery as her hair and a knack for finding trouble. No one
needs her even though she tried so hard to please everyone. But in fact, God does not take
everything from anyone, Anne has a sweet disposition and quick wit, born with a "giant"
imagination and above all is her bravery - always stands up to protect what is right and who
she loves. So gradually, Anne soon finds her place in Avonlea, where she was adopted.
Film is about Anne’s teenager in Green Gables - her house’s name - with Mr & Mrs
Cuthbert. From a girl who can talk a mile a minute, always stuck in her trouble to a woman
with a big heart and highly appreciated. I must say that at first I was shocked by "Wow how
could she talk so much like that ?", but in fact, it was the part of Anne that attracted me. Anne
loves to read, knows a lot of big words to describe everything and she seems to use them in
all of her sentences. Then I think it's true, beautiful must be praised and beautiful things must
of course have beautiful words to describe them. So it's worth it!
The film also cleverly integrates many painful social issues such as racism, gender
equality, LGBT, education, feminism, and freedom of speech,... By solving these problems,
Anne reminded me that human beings have many kinds of "loves"- intimacy, love, friendship,
humanity and even the love of life. Every piece of "love" is worth cherishing and cherishing.
Finally, I would like to talk about the love story of Anne and Gilbert. Their love began with a
friendship first and then into a soulmate. Anne was the reason that kept Gilbert in Avonlea.
Everything is not clear and until Winifred appears, as a catalyst for Gilbert to be more certain
of his feelings. It's really heartbreaking to see their letters being trampled and torn to pieces,
but Anne and Gilbert are still “happy ending” anyway.
If you feel life is too tired and you're a failure or unlucky, try going on some journeys
with Anne. Because maybe you'll like me, realizing that "Oh, life is still so beautiful!". In
addition, you can also practice the British accent - it’s so cool. For those reasons, “Anne with
