JAPANESE KIMONOS

The kimono, a robe like dress, is the traditional
garment of Japan. Although most Japanese
people now wear Western- style clothing, they
wear kimonos on holidays and special occasions.
These women have wrapped their kimonos with
a sash called an obi.


Although the kimono remained essentially
unchanged as the basic article of clothing for
Japanese women for centuries, colors and
patterns changed according to the current
fashion, as did the way of wearing kimonos.
