OBJECTIVES:. By the end of the lesson , Ss will be able to get further information about celebrations in the world , then practice reading comprehension skill for details to complete a table. II. PREPARATION: Textbook, cassette, pictures, posters III. PROCEDURE:. TEACHER’S ACTIVITIES. STUDENTS’ ACTIVITIES. 1/ Warm up : (7’) Getting started - Hang on the pictures and introduce the celebrations. - Tell Ss to work with a partner to match the icons with the names of the celebration they represent .. - Observe and listen. - Match the correct pictures with their number. 1. Easter 2. Wedding 3. Birthday 4. Christmas 5. Mid-Autumn Festival 6. Lunar new year .. 2/ Presentation: (12’)  Activity 1: Pre-teach vocabulary - Introduce the topic of the passage reading and some new words to Ss. I. Vocabulary : 1. decorate (v) : trang trí 2. be together (v) : cùng nhau 3. crowd (n): đám đông 4. Occur (v) = happen / take place 5. Live apart (v) = Far way 6. Lunar New Year (n): tết âm lịch 7. celebrate (v) : kỷ niệm 8. festival (n): lễ hội 9. slavery (n): nô lệ. - Listen and take note..

OBJECTIVES:. - By the end of the lesson , Ss will be able to give and respond to compliment for common situations, and complete a song by filling the missing words. II. PREPARATION: Textbook, cassette, pictures III. PROCEDURE:. TEACHER’S ACTIVITIES 1/ Warm up: (8’) - Let Ss listen the song, then introduce the song Auld Lang Syne(old coltish song/the best known song in English speaking countries) Auld = old lang = long syne = since Auld Lang Syne = the good old days - Have Ss listen the song and complete the missing words I. Listening: a. days b. take c. mind d. hand e. kindness - Introduce the topic of speaking. 2/ Pre- speaking: (15’) Activity 1: - Introduce the topic of the speaking and some vocabulary. II. Speaking: * Vocabulary: a compliment (n): lời khen (to) congratulate: chúc mừng (to) take part in (v): tham gia effective(adj): hiệu quả to nominate(v) : chọn, vinh danh nomination(n): sự vinh danh - Check vocabulary : R.O.R.
