Teacher & Students’ activities Play slap the board, using vocabulary about festivals -Tell Ps that they are going to listen to three dialogues about soe popular festivals and tick the correct pictures. - Have Ss open the book page 31, and identify the festivals and say aloud the date in the pictures - Play the tape *1st:Play the recording all the way through for Ss to listen while they are looking the pictures in their books *2nd: play the recording for Ss to listen and tick the correct pictures. - Have Ss trade their answers in pairs for correction *3rd: play the recording for Ss to check their answers. - Ask Ss to trade their answer -call some ss give the key 1b ; 2a ; 3c - Compare with their partner . - listen and remarks - play the tape one more - ask Ss to repeat the listening - Tell Ss that they are going to answer about popular festivals using the picture cues. - Tell Ss read and complete the sentences in pairs - Ask Ss to trade their answer. - Ask some Ss to read aloud their answers to the class. - Listen and correct. - Check Ss’comprehension . Tell them that they are going to sing a song. - Hang poster of the song Happy New Year on the board. Have them read each line of the lyrics. Explain the new words or structures, if necessary. Check comprehension. -Play the recording all the way through. Ask Ps to do choral and individual repetition of the song. When pupils are familiar with the tune, ask a group to the front of the class to sing the song.
