Introduction
Good morning teacher and everyone .We are members of group 4. I would like
to introdure our first member, Vo minh Tuan, the leader or our group, the second is
Hoang Dai Viet, the third is Phuc ,the fourth is the Vuong and the last is me, Nguyen
thi hong Nhat.
Today, our group like to make a presentation about the diferences in people and
cultures between Vietnam and the United States.
Our report consists of 5 parts. Firt, I will talk about the differences in eating habit,
second, Mr Tuan will present about the differences in the way people build houses.
Third, Mr Phuc will present about the differences between the way the student are
taught in the two countries. Fourth, Mr Viet will talk about the differences in
everyday habit And finally, Mr Vuong. will talk about the differences when people go
to a restaurant.
Don’t worry about talking notes .I,ve put all the important statistics on a hand out for
you.
Chapter 1: The differences in eating habit
First of all, I would like to talk about the differences in eating habit.

A majority of American people can live with some certain types of food for their
whole life. Normally, they have four main kinds of food, including sandwich,
spaghetti, pizza and hamburger. This eating habit comes from the fact that American
need to save time for their work so they like the food that they can take with and eat
on the way traveling to work. On the other hand, Vietnamese people love the diversity
in the food we eat. It's impossible for us to have just some kind of food for too long.
The other difference is that Vietnamese people often eat a lot of vegetables while
American people eat very little vegetables.
Regarding the meat, some Vietnamese may prefer the food with bones sometimes
but American people never eat the food with bones. Even with the fish, all the fish
with bones that we often have in Vietnam never appear in US supermarket. They only
like catfish fillet imported from Vietnam that don't have any bones.
Next, Mr.Tuan will present about the differences in the way people build houses in
Vietnam and the United States

Chapter 2: The differences in house building between the United States and
Vietnam
Thank you Ms. Nhat. Now I will talk about the differences in the way people
build houses in Vietnam and in the United States.
In Vietnam, people often build houses with brick while in the United States the
houses are often built with wood.
In the countryside, Vietnamese people often grow tree for fruit if they have large
garden while American people often grow grass to make the house look beautiful.
Another different thing is that Vietnamese people often use gas cooker while
Americans like using electric cooker in the house.
The last thing that we can see in the differences between the way people build
house in the Unites States and Vietnam is that all the houses in Vietnam often have a

fence while in the United States, people don't build fence around their house.
Next, Mr. Phuc will present about the differences in the way people build houses
in Vietnam and the United States.

Chater 3: The differences between the way the student are taught in the two
countries.
Thank you Mr. Tuan. In this part, I would like to talk about the differences
between the way the children are taught in the two countries.
First, in Vietnam universities, all the subjects are mandatory and decided by
the university leaders. Students do not have right to choose what they will learn. On
the other hand, American students can choose one third of the time they will learn,
regardless which major they are taking (including mathematics, physics, chemistry,
economics, psychology, literature, etc..)
Second, in their majors (such as mathematics, physics, chemistry, economics,
psychology, literature , etc..), in addition to a number of required classes, students in
America also have the right to choose elective classes that they like. Meanwhile,
students in Vietnam have to learn all the classes that the universities have decided.
Finally, American education system emphasize on the ethics of the students.
Teachers in the United States encourage students to make something new, and not
commit cheating in exams. Consequently, it is easy to see American students submit a
blank paper to the teacher if they don't know the answer rather seeing an American
student do cheating in exams. On the other hand, in Vietnam it is easy to see students
cheating in exams at all level of education.

That's the end of my part. Next, Mr. Viet Will talk about the differences in
everyday habit of Vietnamese people and American people.

Chater 4: The different thing in everyday habit of Vietnamese and Americans.
Thank you Mr. Phuc Now I would like to mention some different thing in
everyday habit of Vietnamese and Americans.
In Vietnam, when people talk with an acquaintance, normally we can talk about
the family and children. However, in the United States, people often avoid talking
about the family with another person who is not close friend.
Another different thing is that American people often take a bath in the morning,
before they go to work while Vietnamese people often have a bath at the end of the
day.
And the final thing that I would like to mention here is that most of Vietnamese
people often throw the trash in public places instead of a trash can. In the United
States, people often find a trash can to put the trash in.
An that's the end of my part. In the next part, Mr. Vuong will talk about the

differences when people go to a restaurant in Vietnam and in the United States.

Chater 5: How diferently people behave when they go to a restaurant in Vietnam
and in the United States.
Thank you Mr. Viet. In this final part, I will talk about how differently people
behave when they go to a restaurant in Vietnam and in the United States.
First, when we go to a restaurant in Vietnam we often don't pay the tip for the
waiters. However, in the United States, people are expected to pay the tip for the
waiters worth fifteen percent of the meal price.
Another difference is that in Vietnam it is normal that one person can pay for all

the bills. However, in the United States, people prefer to pay for their own meal if
they go to a restaurant with their friends.
Finally, in the United States, if you cannot eat all of your food, you can ask the
restaurant owner to give you a box so you can take all the leftover food with you.
This is really different with the way people do in Vietnam because in Vietnam people
rarely take the leftover food from a restaurant to their home.

1. Advantages and disadvantages of using Internet.
Nowaday, Internet is very popular and used widely all over the world.
But as we know evrything has 2 sides, so using Internet has advantages and
disadvantages.
About advantages: Firstly, you can improve your study, your work. You
can find information about knowledge, notes, essay, lectures, guidelines,
education and promote your level. Students can learn and look for basic
knowledge online without spending too much time in the library. It’s very
convenient for both students and teachers to broaden their perception.Not
only that in Internet has more than points related to your subject are
available in your books. We can’t deny that the Internet is a big store of
information.
Secondly, Internet is fast. Many pages of news are constantly update
information about many many problems all over the world, you can find
more fastly and easily but no need to buy newspaper as traditionnally. You
can buy book, school supplies, clothes,... or book tickets online so good but
don’t need to go to the store. Or you can connect and chat with your
friends, your relatives by call freely in some app available, on

Internet.Finally, Internet is a resource of entertainment. Affer school, affter
long time to study to work, you can listen to music, watch film, play game,
play a musical instrument... It makes you ralax, comfortable. Beside
Advantages, Internet also has some disadvantages. Firstly, use Internet too
much is not good for your health . If you seat in front ò computer, you
won’t active, it makes your body become fatter and fatter. It also effect on
your eyes too much. That is the reason why many people special children
are nearsighted now. Secondly, use Internet is time-consuming, you can be
caught up in some film, some games, and you may be forgot the time...It’s
not good if you addited. Finally, leaking information. If you have account
on Internet, you have to careful when use it. Some people has bad
intentions, they intruse by the hole of internet and steal your personal
information . It’s dangerous for you.
In conclusion, using Internet is good if you use it suitable. And you
should control your time of ussing internet.

2. The importances of learning a foreign language:
Nowaday, know about a foreign language is score, so learning a foreign
language is very important.
Firstly, open up a world of job opportunities. The world is changing
fast, more companies than ever are doing business in several dozen of
countries around the world, but they can’t do it without hiring people who
can speak ai least one languege. Seconsly, become a better learner, As you
spend time learning your first foreign language, you’ll identify your own
missing effect and eliminate them.When you know your mistakes and
know how to fix them then that is your success and will make you
remember it forever.Finally, you can travel around the world, if you know

foreign language, it makes you confident in all situation
