A.Simple present tense:(thì hieän taïi ñôn) Hình thức: I / we / you / they/ N + inf. He / She / It / Ns + Vs/es * Thêm “es” vào những động từ có tận cùng là: ch, sh, s, x, z, o To be: I + am … We / you / they + are … He / she / it + is … + DO / DOES: I / we / you / they/ N + DO He / She / It / Ns + DOES * Trợ động từ “Do / Does” chỉ được sử dụng trong câu hỏi và câu phủ định, động từ đi sau luôn luôn giữ nguyên mẫu. Caùch duøng: _ Dùng để diễn tả thói quen hoặc sự việc xảy ra thường xuyên ở hiện tại. (Trong câu thường có các trạng từ như: always, usually, often, sometimes, seldom, never, generally, regularly, every day/week/month/year… once, twice, three times… a day/week…) Ex: We come to school on time every day. My mother always gets up early. _ Dùng để diễn tả một sự thật hiển nhiên, một chân lý, các phong tục tập quán, các hiện tượng tự nhiên. Ex: The earth moves around the sun. B- INDEFINITE QUANTIFIERS: many/much, lots of/a lot of, some/any, (a) little/(a) few 1/- Many (nhiều): được dùng trước danh từ đếm được số nhiều. Ex: - There are not many books on the table. - Her old school doesn't have many students. 2/- Much (nhiều): được dùng trước danh từ không đếm được. Ex: - There isn't much milk in the glass. - She hasn't much time for her family. 3/- Lots of/ a lot of (nhiều): Được dùng trước cả danh từ không đếm được và danh từ đếm được số nhiều. Thường được dùng trong câu khẳng định..

"A little" mang nghĩa khẳng định trong khi đó "little" mang nghĩ phủ định. Ex: - Luckily, there is a little rice left. - Unluckily, there is little rice left. 5/- (a) few – (một) ít: được dùng với danh từ đếm được số nhiều. They shall go to Hanoi next week………………………………………………… COMPARISON WITH ADJECTIVES COMPARISON WITH ADJECTIVES (So sánh với tính từ) A/- Comparative degree: Chúng ta dùng dạng so sánh hơn để so sánh giữa hai người, hai vật thể với nhau. 1. Đối với tính từ ngắn (with short adjectives) S + be + ADJ_ER + THAN + N/ PRON - He is stronger than his friend. - I am taller than my sister. 2. Đối với tính từ dài (with long adjectives) S + be + MORE + ADJ + THAN + N/ PRON - She is more beautiful than any other girls in my class. - This book is more interesting than that one. Chú ý a. Các tính từ tận cùng là ED hoặc ING được dùng như tính từ dài. - We got more bored by his lecture than they. b. Đôi khi có sự so sánh giữa hai tính từ - This book is more practical than scholarly (scholarly: học thuật) - She is more diligent than intelligent. (diligent: siêng năng) c. Một tính từ có 2 âm tiết tận cùng là phụ âm Y chúng ta đổi Y thành I và thêm ER. - Pretty --> prettier, happy --> happier, sunny --> sunnier. + Một số tính từ có 2 âm tiết có thể áp dụng cả 2 cách. - Pleasant --> pleasanter/ more pleasant, polite --> politer/ more polite. + Tính từ 2 âm tiết tận cùng là -ER, -OW, được thêm ER vào sau. - Simple --> simpler, clever --> cleverer, narrow --> narrower. Ngoại lệ (Exception): - Slender --> slenderer/ more slender - Simple --> simpler/ more simple. Shallow --> shallower/ more shallow (...) Clever --> cleverer/ more clever.

(7) d. Trước tính từ so sánh hơn chúng ta có thể dùng A BIT, A LITTLE, MUCH, A LOT, FAR (nhiều), RATHER (khá) - Don't go by train. It's much more expensive. - Bill Gates has much more money than anyone else. - Mary works a lot harder than most of her friends. . Một số tính từ bất quy tắc trong so sánh hơn. - Good --> better. - bad --> worse. - Little --> less. - much --> more. - Far --> farther/further - Fore --> former. - Old --> older/elder. - late --> later/ latter. B/- Superlative degree: chúng ta dùng dạng so sánh cao nhất để so sánh từ 3 người hoặc 3 vật thể trở lên 1. Với tính từ ngắn (with short adjectives) S + be + THE + ADJ_ EST … Ex:- Ho Chi Minh city is the biggest city in Vietnam. - He is the tallest student in our class. 2. Với tính từ dài (with long adjectives) S + be + THE MOST + ADJ …. Ex:- She is the most intelligent girl in my class. - This is the most interesting book in our school library. 4. Grammar – A, Đại từ chỉ định (Demonstrative pronouns): THIS, THAT, THESE, THOSE 1/- This (đây, này...): - Dùng để chỉ một vật, một người ở gần. - Danh từ theo sau là danh từ số ít đếm được. - Động từ theo sau là động từ ở ngôi thứ 3 số ít. Ex: - This is a book. - This movie is very interesting. - This man is short. 2/- That (kia, đó...): - Dùng để chỉ một vật, một người ở xa. - Danh từ theo sau là danh từ số ít đếm được. - Động từ theo sau là động từ ở ngôi thứ 3 số ít. (9) - Dùng để chỉ nhiều vật, nhiều người ở gần. - Danh từ theo sau là danh từ đếm được số nhiều. - Động từ theo sau là động từ ở ngôi số nhiều. Ex: - These are desks. - These books are mine - These are my friends. 4/- Those (số nhiều của That): - Dùng để chỉ nhiều vật, nhiều người ở xa. - Danh từ theo sau là danh từ đếm được số nhiều. B, Giới từ chỉ thời gian (Preposition of time) 1/- In + tháng/năm/tháng, năm Ex: In September in 1979 in September 1979 2/- In + the morning/afternoon/evening (vào buổi sáng/chiều/tối) Ex: I usually get up at 6 in the morning. We often watch TV in the evening. 3/- On + thứ/ ngày tháng/ ngày tháng năm Ex: on Monday On September 14th on September 14, 1979 4/- At + một điểm thời gian cụ thể Ex: at 6 o’clock. She often goes to bed at 11 p.m 5/- After/before + thời gian Ex: After 5 o’clock Before 8 a.m 6/- Between + thời gian + and + thời gian Ex: I’ll wait for you there between 7 p.m and 11 p.m C,. Câu mệnh lệnh 1/- Hình thức (Form) Thức mệnh lệnh có hình thức giống như động từ thường. Ở thức mệnh lệnh chủ ngữ “You” được hiểu ngầm. Ex: Come in. (=You should come in) Read the instructions carefully. Chúng ta thêm “do not/don’t” để thành lập hình thức mệnh lệnh phủ định. Ex: Don’t make so much noise. Don’t turn off the lights. 2/- Cách dùng (Uses) a/- Đưa ra mệnh lệnh hoặc yêu cầu người khác làm gì. Ex: Open your book, please. Mở sách ra (giáo viên nói với học sinh) Don’t tell anyone about this. Đừng nói với ai điều này (ông chủ nói với nhân viên) b/- Đưa ra lời gợi ý hoặc lời khuyên.
