Teacher: lesson plan, text book and posters. B. Students: books, notebooks. III. PROCEDURE: A. Warm- up/ Warmer: Brainstorming ? Places of interest in Vietnam B. New lesson: * Lead- in: - uses following questions: How often do you travel? Where can you find the information for you vacation? - introduces the lesson Teacher’s activities Students' activities I. PRE-SPEAKING 1. Activity 1: Pre-teach + Set the scene: Remind Ss of the exchanges - pay attention and take note. between Hoa and Mr. Jones and between Hoa and Tim in the last dialogue and elicit he sentences from Ss. -Model sentences: A: Would you mind sitting in front of the taxi? - copy down. This is the conversation between you and the tourist office. - puts the dialogue chart on the board. - elicits the exchanges from Ss and have them repeat. - has Ss open their books and use the information on P.101 to make and practice other dialogues in groups + Group 1: Markets + Group 2: Museums + Group 3: Restaurants + Group 4: Garden - lets Ss 5 minutes to prepare their dialogues and goes around to help - invites some pairs to present their dialogues to the front - listen to Ss and takes notes - gives feedback and comments III. POST- SPEAKING 1. Activity 1: Listen to the tape and match the places in the box to their correct position on the map. - hangs on the map on the board and asks Ss to identify the places - plays the tape 2 or 3 times and asks Ss to work in pairs to do the exercise - gets feedback - plays the tapes once more to check the answers with Ss - gives comments. - read through the dialogue chart and try to complete the sentences. - open their books and practice other dialogues. - work in groups and ask for help if necessary to prepare their dialogues - present their dialogues to the front - correct themselves +Possible answers: a.Restaurant. b.Hotel. c.Bus station. d.Pagoda. e.Temple. - runs through the map - listen to the tape and take notes to match the places to their correct position on the map - give feedback - listen to the tape and check the answer - comment on the lesson.
