III/ Procedures.. Teacher’s activities 1/ WARM – UP. (5’). - Have Ss look at the picture and answer some questions. Student’s activities Whole class. 1.Where is he? 2. Which sport dose he like? 2/ PRESENTATION. (10’). - Let. students observe a picture and guess what sport is it.. - Look at the pictures and make a guess. Listen and answer . Notice the - Ask some questions to elicit the meaning of the meanings of the given . words :. + scuba-diving + pearl diver invention + special breathing equipment (with the help of a picture ) vessel + explore + deep sea + underwater. * Checking vocabulary: rub out and remember.

(16’). * Activity 1. - Read over the text and request them to follow attentively . - Ask them questions and check whether their answers are correct or not . 1. What is most of the world’s surface? 2. What did Jacques Cousteau invent? * Activity 2. - Request them to pick out the sentences in the text which identify their choice . - Check the answers and correct if there are any mistakes . 1. Most of the world’s surface is land. 2. Before the invention of special breathing equipment, man couldn’t swim freely underwater. 3. Now, scuba-diving is a popular sport. 4. Jacques Cousteau invented special TV cameras. 5. We can learn more about the undersea world thanks to Jacques Cousteau’s invention. 4/ POST – READING. (12) * Activity 1. - Ask ss to work in pairs to ask and answer the questions a. Do we know much about the oceans? b. Can a diver stay underwater for a long time without special breathing equipment? c. Who invented a deep-sea diving vessel? * Activity 2. - Have Ss Play game :Play with words 5/ HOMEWORK. (2’). - Revise the lesson. - Prepare unit 14 – A1 IV/ Comments.. - Read sentence by sentence and do the translation - Listen to the teacher and answer the questions - Correct if there are any mistakes - Try to identify one’s choice by picking out the true sentence . - Check the answer and correct if necessary. - Work in pair.. - Play game.. - Write homework..
