<span class='text_page_counter'>(1)</span>Reading: Read about the brief profile of one of the most famous film – maker, Walter Elias Disney.( 1901 - 1966) Walter Disney was an American cartoon artist and producer of animated motion picture, born on December 5th, 1901 in Chicago, Illinois. In 1923 Disney began producing animated films in Hollywood, California. Steamboat Willie (1928), produced by his own company, introduced Disney’s most popular cartoon character, Mickey Mouse, and used sound for the first time in an animal cartoon. He was the first producer to use Technicolour, on Flowers and Trees in 1933. He created Donald Duck in 1934, and in 1937 he made the first full-length animated movie, The Snow White and seven Dwarfs. Over the next sixty years, he made a series of successful cartoon films, including Pinocchio (1940), Fantasia (1941), Bambi (1943), The Lady and the Tramp (1956), and the posthumous The Jungle Book (1967).
