Aims and objectives : + Language Content : + To supply the students some new words and phrases relating to different activities at recess in schools in the USA.. +Language Function : + Helping them develop the reading comprehension skill with forms reading and choosing correct sentences.. +Educational Aim : + Helping them know some various activities at a recess in the world 1. Language : + Vocabulary : shooting some hoops, portable C.D, earphone. + Structures : Simple present tense; Present progressive tense 2. Skills : Speaking – Listening - Reading - Writing 3. Educational factor : + Helping the s.s know how to use time suitably between recess and study. II. Teacher’s and students’ preparation : 1. Method : Communicative Approach 2. Techniques : repetition, explanation,pair work. 4. Materials needed : textbook, pictures and tape. 5. Students’preparation: prepare words and phrases 6. Previous exercise : Ask and answer about activities at recess. III. PROCEDURES IN CLASS : 1. Stabilization : 2ms a. Warm up: Greetings b. Checking up absent: Who’s absent today?. 2. Checking up previous knowledge : 5ms. Questions: Has a student stand on the spot to answer the question given by the teacher What do you usually do at recess? Key: Student’s answer. 3. Do you know what students in other countries / in the USA often do at recess? In order to know exactly what American students usually do at recess. Let’s read part 3 ( page 57) II.Pre-practice: Has the s.s scan the passage for the gist. Elicits the meaning of the words and expressions Energetic (translation) Pen pal ( explanation) Shooting some hoops ( picture and explanation) Swap ( gesture) Change =swap Has them read the passage again and guess the meaning of other difficult words and expressions. III. controlled-practice: Has them compare their exercises each other. Checks their comprehension by asking some questions. Lets them read the passage again to check the answer. Has them cross-check the answers with a partner. Gives correct answer IV. Free-practice: Has them write T/F statements for the following sentences. 1. American students don’t play basket-ball at recess. 2. American students read or study at the same time sometimes.. Answer the questions Listen to the teacher’s introduction.
