Brainstorming


- Have sts think about what they do to prepare for
a typhoon.


- Get sts to go to the board and write down
+ What should we do when there is a typhoon?
+ Do you know anything about earthquakes?
+ Are there any earthquakes in Vietnam?
+ in which countries do earthquakes usually
occur?


(Can use Vietnamese to express their ideas)

<b>Step 1. Pre-speaking</b> (12’)


Act 1. Introduce the new words


- Listen, guess its meaning and copy down.
- Repeat chorally , individually

- Ss work in pairs to talk about what they think
they want to buy and do to prepare for a typhoon
and explain why, using the ideas in Section a and
E.g. S1: I think we should buy matches and
candles before a typhoon.



S2: Yes, I think so, because there may be a power
cut.

water? Because water pipes may be
damaged and we’ll not have enough
water to use right after the typhoon<i>.</i>

and matches before a typhoon.


B: Yes, I agree with you. Because there
maybe a power cut when the wind is
strong.
