Activity2: Open prediction :( C1 P.38 )


- Sets the scene : <i>You are going to read a text </i>
<i>about Lan’s family. Now please predict about the </i>
<i>members of her family.</i>


- Gets students to copy the table and work
individually to complete the table.


- Gives feedback.

Activity 1. Reading and checking:


- Asks students to open their books and read the
text on page 38.


- Lets students check their prediction
- Gives feedback

Activity 2. Comprehension Questions


- Ask students to read the questions aloud ( one by
one).


- Ask Ss to work in pairs to find out the answers of
these questions


- Ss practice in front of the class then write the
answer on the board


Activity3: Noughts and crosses
- Divide the class into 2 teams


- One team is Noughts(0) and the other is


crosses(x)


- One team starts choosing a number and make a
question and an answer with the given words. If
the question and the answer are correct, T puts a
mark (<i>O</i> or <i>X </i>) in that square.


- The first team to get 3 in a row (across, down or
diagonally) wins the game.


<b>Step 3 : Post Reading (8’)</b>


- Ask Ss to look at word cues and pictures in
C2/P.39 to talk about song’s family


- Ask- answer about the members in Song’s
family.


- T models first with 1student .
T: How old is Mr. Kien / his father?
S: He is forty – two.


T: What does he do?
S: He is an engineer.
- Ss work in pairs as told.


- Ask some pairs to ask – answer aloud. T gives
feedback.


- Ask ss to write about Song’s family at home.
