<b>A. PHÂN BIỆT TÍNH TỪ, TRẠNG TỪ NGẮN/ TÍNH TỪ, TRẠNG TỪ DÀI VÀ CÁCH </b>
<b>BIẾN ĐỔI SO SÁNH.</b>
<b>1. Phân biệt tính từ, trạng từ ngắn / tính từ, trạng từ dài:</b>
Tính từ, trạng từ ngắn Tính từ, trạng từ dài
- Có 1 âm tiết
Ex: small big, short, long, large,…
- Có 1 âm tiết và tận cùng là “ed”:
Ex: tired, bored,…
- Có 2 âm tiết và tận cùng là “y”:
Ex: happy, lucky, funny, sunny, hungry,…
- Có 2 âm tiết:
Ex: famous, boring, awful, afraid, often,…
* Những tính từ sau được xếp vào cả 2 loại:
+ Tận cùng là “ow”: shallow, narrow
+ Tận cùng là “er”: clever
+ Tận cùng là “le”: simple, gentle, feeble
+ Tận cùng là “ant”: pleasant
+ Các loại khác: clear, free, safe, keen, sure, true, wise, able, common, cruel, friendly, hansome,
polite, quiet, sincere, stupid
- Có 3 âm tiết trở lên:
Ex: intelligent, expensive, popular,…
- Early - Trạng từ tận cùng là “ly”:
Ex: cheaply, happily, beautifully,…
<b>2. Cách biến đổi so sánh:</b>

<b>1. So sánh bằng (equal comparison)</b>
as + adj/adv + as
S + V + (not so/as)
The same (+N) as + N/pronoun
Look/ sound,seem, feel,… like
She is as tall as me.
She is the same height as me
Tony looks like a mature man today.
<b>2. So sánh hơn (Comparative)</b>
S + V + adj/adv –er + than + N/pronoun
More/less + adj/adv
(<i><b>Less</b></i> dùng cho cả adj/adv ngắn và dài)
(<i><b>Less</b></i> dùng để so sánh danh từ không đếm được
<i><b>Fewer</b></i> dùng để so sánh danh từ đếm được số nhiều)
Her house is smaller than mine.
They are more intelligent than me.
This movie is less interesting than their previous one.
He has less money than she.
There are fewer people today than yesterday.
<b>3. So sánh nhất</b>
The + adj/adv –est
The most/least + adj/adv
(<i><b>The least</b></i> dùng cho cả adj/adv ngắn và dài)
This film is the longest of the three.
This book is the most interesting.
This movie is the least successful.
<b>4. So sánh kép</b>
<b>a. So sánh tăng dần (càng ngày càng…)</b>
Comparative + and + comparative He is working harder and harder.
The rivers are getting more and more polluted.
Fax is less and less used today.
<b>b. So sánh song song (càng…càng…)</b>
The + comparative + S + V, The + comparative + S + V <b>The harder he woks, the higher he will be promoted.</b>
<b>The hotter it is, the more annoyed he feels.</b>
<b>The more he talks, the more I hate him.</b>
<b>The fewer exams we offer to students, the less pressure </b>
they are under.
