I. Objectives:

1. Knowledge: By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to: talk about school facilities
- Sentence Partners: That’s my school. Is it big?-Yes, it is/No, it isn’t. It’s small.
- Vocabulary: school, big, small, gym, library, computer room, playground

2. Skills:

- Develop Ss speaking and listening skills
3. Attitude: Educate Sts to love their lesson.

page 46 and what they are saying.

Set the scene “you are going to listen to Linda and
Mai talk about school facilities.

Play the recording and asks Ss to listen to the tape.
T asks Ss to listen and repeat in chorus two times.
Call on one pair. One repeats Mai’s part, the other
repeats Linda’s part.

Have whole class repeat all the phrases a few times to
reinforce their pronunciation.

Have pupils look at pictures on Page 46. Elicit the
characters in the pictures and their names.

bubbles.

- Model: Call some Ss to talk about school facilities.
Ask them to point the pictures and make sentences.
Using the pictures in their books. Monitor the activity
and offer help. Correct pronunciation errors (stress,
assimilation of sounds, intonation) when necessary.

- Call on some Ss to perform their task at the front of
the class. The rest of the class observe and give
comments.

- Have the whole class repeat all the phrases in chorus
to reinforce their pronunciation.

- Pre: Tell pupils that they are going to listen and tick
the correct boxes. Give a few seconds for pupils to
look at the pictures. Check understanding by eliciting
the names of the school facilities and give feedback.
- While: Play the recording three times for pupils to
listen, do the task and check their answers.

- Post: Get pupils to swap and check their answers
before checking as a class.

* Activity 2: (10’)

- Tell pupils that they are going to look at the pictures
and fill the gaps. Give a few seconds for pupils to look
at the pictures and read the text in silence. Check
comprehension and give feedback.

- Give pupils time to do the task.

- Get pupils to swap and check their answers before
calling different individuals to read the sentences aloud.
Write the correct answers on the board for pupils to
correct each other’s answer.

- Call individual pupils to read the sentences aloud.

* Activity 3: 5’

- Tell pupils that they are going to sing the song This is
the way we go to school song. Teach the song,
following the procedure in the teaching the unit
components in the introduction.

few times. When pupils are familiar with the tune,
show them how to sing the song and do the actions.
- Get groups of pupils to sit face and practice singing

* Activity 1: (11’)

Have pupils look at pictures a, b, c and d on page
of the Student Book. Elicit the identification of
the characters in the pictures and the characters’
words. Tell pupils that they are going to listen to
the recording and match the information they
hear to the pictures. They should number the
boxes.

- Play the recording 2 times pupils to listen and
number the boxes. Check their guess. Compare
the answer with the partner.

- Play the recording again pupils check their
answers. T give the answer:

- Ask some questions to ensure pupils’
comprehension of the listening text.

Look at the pictures and write the answers:

Ss to answer the room of their school - Pupils
practice in pairs and complete the dialogues.
- Pair works. Pupils give their answers for
correction.

- Ask some pupils to read their answers aloud to
the class. The rest of the class listen and give
comments.

- Make a few questions to check pupils’
comprehension of the reading text.

- Have the whole class read each line of the
dialogues chorally to reinforce their
pronunciation.

6. Write about your school.
Play the game

pupils play in groups of six. Each
group has one set of four pieces of
paper. On each of which one of the
four words is written, e.g. this, is,
and one of the character’s names that

they have learnt (Linda or Tony or
Tom or Mary). Each group member
pick up one piece of paper. Then the
pupils in each group put their pieces
of paper together in order to make a
sentence, e.g. This is my friend
Linda.
