<b>I.Aims.</b>

- By the end of the lesson, students can be able to recognize and pronounce the letter

-Understand, recognize and say the three Ggwords and Write the letter Gg

<b>3.Attitude.</b>
- Educate Ss to be friendly with friends.
- Students love animals and trees with the letter g.

<b>T: teachers’ book, , CD, phonics cards ,paper including the lyrics of the chant </b>

<b>2.Warm up ( 5’)</b>
<b> - </b>Greet students
-Review the previous lesson by playing the “Touching game”
-Put up the fox, fish, frog, and fork cards on the board.
-Line up students into 2 teams
-Call a student from each team to stand 1m from the board
-Read 1 of the 3 words out loud (e.g. a fox), the students must run to tap the card of
that word
-The student who taps the correct card first will get 1 point for his/her team
-Call 4-6 students per team to the board if possible

<b>* Activity 1 (15mins)</b>
-Introduction of letter Gg, its sound and how
to pronounce the words beginning with Gg
- Use a card with letter Gg (or write on the
board the letter Gg) to introduce to the
students the new lesson.
- Instruct students how to pronounce the
letter name and the letter sound by saying:
“This is the letter Gg/d3i/. The letter
<i><b>gsays /g/.”</b></i>
- Ss; look at the sound listen and repeat.
- Ss: work individually and pairs.
- Play the CD
- Ask students to repeat several times and
check their pronunciation (letter Gg /d3i/
and its sound /g/)
Use the phonics cards with glass, goat,
<i><b>garden </b></i>
read the words out loud and ask students to
repeat.
- Use gestures (hand actions) to help
students to understand the meanings of the
three words.
- Check students’ understanding: Teacher
says the words, all students do actions and
vice versa.
- Ss: work individually.
- Call some students to say the words out
loud and correct their mistakes (if any)
- S:Le Ngoc Linh know the letter G.
<b>Activity 2: : Memory Game (5mins)</b>
-Put the phonics cards of glass, goat,
<i><b>garden, Gg on the board</b></i>
-Ask students to memorize the order of
these cards
- Ss: listen and remember the phonics cards.
-Ask students to close their eyes, remove
one phonics card randomly and ask
individual students to name it.

-Show the letter Gg again, have students
write the Gg in air with their fingers

- Revise the words from the previous unit through ‘Reorder Letter Game’
-Put up the egg, elf, elephant and elbow phonics cards on the board
-Write the letter of each word in jumbled order around the phonics cards
- Ask students to write the words in their notebook
- Ask individual students to come to the board and write the words

-Have students look at the books and listen

-Ask students repeat by using the phonics
cards of glass, goat, garden combining with
gestures
- Ss: listen and repeat.
- Ss; work individually and pairs.
-Then, ask students to colour the glass and
the goat, using any colour they like.
- Ss: look at the picture and colour.
- Ss: work individually.
-Go around the classroom, asking students
to name the items they are coloring

<b>Activity 2: Pass the phonics card Game </b>
<b>(5mins)</b>
-Using the phonics cards of Gg, glass, goat,
<b>1.Listen and point. Colour</b>
<b>2. Practice.</b>

-Line up the students into 2 teams
-Give the first students of each team a
phonics card and say “Go”
-Ss: look and remember.
-The students say the corresponding words
and pass the phonics card over their head to
the students behind them
-Next, those students repeat the word and
pass the phonics card between their legs to
the students behind them
-Continue to pass the phonics card over their
heads and between their legs to the last
students
- Ss: work in groups.
-Which team hands their phonics card to
Teacher and says the word correctly will get
one point
-Which team has the most point will be the
winner
-Continue the game as many times as
necessary
<b>* Activty 3.(Track 04) (7mins)</b>
-Put up the lyrics of the chant on the board
-Without music, use the phonics cards and
step students to sing the chant with glass.
Do the same with goat and garden.
- Ss: look at the chant listen and repeat.
- Ss” work individually.
-With music, the whole class sings the
whole chant. Do the chant again using
gestures for each word.
-Give feedback

<b>*Activity 4 : Write down the words into </b>
<b>Students’ notebook</b>
Ask students write down: Gg ,glass, goat,
garden into their notebook.
- Ss: work individually
