I. GRAMMMAR: Although, despite/ in spite of (dù, mặc dù)
 * EX: We go to school although it rains heavily.

* Note: We use “although, despite/ in spite of” to express contrast between two pieces
of information in the same sentence.

- “Although” is used before a clause.

- “Despite/ in spite of” is used before a noun or a phrase.

(- Chúng ta dùng“although, despite/ in spite of” để thể hiện sự tương phản giữa hai phần
thông tin trong cùng một câu.

- “Although” được dùng trước một mệnh đề.

- “Despite/ in spite of” được dùng trước một danh từ hoặc một cụm từ.)

*1/ P.19: Complete the sentences. Use although + a clause from the box.

(Hoàn thành các câu. Sử dụng although + mệnh đề trong khung.)

II. GRAMMMAR: However and nevertheless (tuy nhiên)

* Ex: Nam was sick. However, he took part in the competition.

* Note: We also use however and nevertheless to express contrast between two
sentences. We usually use a comma after them.

(Chúng ta cũng dùng however and nevertheless để thể hiện sự tương phản giữa hai câu.
Chúng ta thường dùng dấu phẩy sau chúng.)

*4/ P.20: Complete the sentences using although, despite/ in spite of, however or
nevertheless. Sometimes, two answers are possible.

6.Despite his age, my father is still healthy.

My favorite movie is cartoon “Tom and Jerry”. Tom is a cat with blue and white
color. He keeps the house for a normal family and has a very free life. His job is
chasing Jerry day by day. Jerry is a brown house mouse. He usually lives in the deep
cave behind the wall. Although they hate each other so much and always find ways to
hurt the opponent but when Tom or Jerry falls into really dangerous situations, then
both become another savior. The film is an endless confrontation between Tom and
Jerry, bring plenty of laughter for the audiences. I love this film because when I watch it
I feel very glad, feeling like returned to my childhood.
