Aims : - By the end of the lesson, the students will know more about birthday celebrations in the world.. - By the end of the lesson, the students are able to listen and specific details. II. Lexical items : -honor -buffet -savories -random -accompany -plan III. Structures : -A traditional cake is often served with candles that are to be blown…. -If birthdays were perfectly random in their distribution across the year,… then there would be a birthday celebration every 0,005 second. IV. Teaching aids: - textbook - CD player - Sheet of paper - chalk - cards - Handouts V. Techniques : - skill-based ( listening, speaking) VI. Procedures : State/time Teacher’s and students’ activities Blackboard Materials 1. warmGames: “touch and describe” up -Arrange the class into tow groups. -Posters cards. PostSpeaking : Information-gap listening - Put SS into pairs .Student A is given a text on birthday celebrations in some (15’) place(s) and student B its gapped version -Within pairs, SS ask each other questions to fill in the gaps. -In turn student B is given a different text and student A its gapped version. -Pairs continue in the same way -The teacher moves around the class and intervenes only where necessary. 5. Vocabulary review Homework - tell Sts to learn the new words and (1’) make some sentences with them, describing a certain person. Chalk and board.
