Objectives : By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to: - Use conditional sentences (type 1,2 3) and conditional sentences in reported speech appropriately. 2. Teaching aids: - blackboard, chalk, handouts. - textbook, lesson plan. B. Procedures Teacher’s activities Time Students’ activities I. Organization - T checks the number of students and asks Ss to make some class arrangement. II. Checking the old lesson - T calls on 2 sts to go to the board. One does Ex1 and the other does Ex2 in page 88. - T checks and gives comments and marks III. New lesson 1. Warm- up : Noughts and crosses - T divides the class into 2 groups, instructs them how to play the game. If Go Bed Pass Me She Cat Dog Bag - T gets sts to play the game. - T declares the winner 2. Grammar a. Revision of conditional sentences. * Presentation. - T elicits the form and use of conditional sentences from sts.. 1 min 4 mins. - The monitor reports the number of students in his/her class to the teacher. - write on the board. - copy down and listen.. 4 mins. - listen to the T’s instructions.. - play the game in 3 minutes. - clap their hands.. 7 mins. - listen carefully and copy down if necessary.. Conditional sent in reported speech. * Presentation. - T writes some conditional sentences in reported speech on the board and asks sts to comment on the changes of verbs, pronouns, adverbs of time and places. - T elicits the comments from sts and makes clear that: + Conditional type 1: we apply all the necessary changes as usual ( verb tense, pronouns, adverbs of time and places) + Conditional type 2,3: we don’t change the verb tenses. b. Practic (handouts). - T distributes some handouts to sts to do. - T checks with the whole class and gives the final comments.. - note down.. - copy down.. 8 mins. - get the handouts and do it.. - read out their sentences - listen carefully. 7 mins - take note. - give comments on the changes and then copy down.. 11 mins. - get the handouts and do it. - check together..
