1. The Simple Past tense: ( Thì quá khứ đơn)

Yesterday, last ( night, week, month, year, vacation, summer…); …ago ( 2 days ago,
a week a go…)

+ in + thời gian trong quá khứ ( in 1990) in 2006).
c. Hình thức – cấu trúc.

c1 Động từ TOBE.

Ở thì q khứ đơn, động từ TOBE có 2 dạng đó là: Was/were.
 Thể khẳng định:

S ( I/ She / He / I + ) chủ từ số ít) + was…..
S ( you / We / They / chủ từ số nhiều) + were….
Ví dụ: Yesterday, I was sick.

Yesterday, Ba and Nam were late for school.
 Thể phủ định:

S + was not ( wasn/t) + …
S + were not ( weren/t + …

Ví dụ: Liz wasn/t tired after the trip
They weren/t sick yesterday.
 Thể nghi vấn:

- Yes / No questions:
Was / Were + S + ….?

Yes, S + was / were / No, S wasn/t/weren/t
Ví dụ: + Was Nha Trang beautiful?
Yes, they were / No, they weren/t.
- WH. Questions:

WH + was / were + S + …?
S + was / were…

Ví dụ: + How was Nha Trang?
It was beautiful.

+ How were the people in Nha Trang?
They were friendly.

 Một số động từ bất quy tắc:
