-Revision of modal verbs : Ask students to name some
modal verbs with their meanings

-Ask students to give the form of modal verbs
Form : S + modal verbs + Vinfi
-Ask students to do exercise 1P38 individually then pairs

<b>Activity 3 : Reported speech ( 10’)</b>
-Set the scene : Lan’s father held a party to celebrate his
mother’s birthday.Unfortunateny,Lan’s grandma couldn’t
hear what people saying. After the party, Lan reported
everything to her grandma
-Give example :
“ I am happy to see you ” (Aunt Xuan )
->Aunt Xuan said she was happy to see you
-Ask students to work in pairs to do exercise 3P39

-In reported questions, the words order is the same as in the
statements and we don’t use a question mark
-Ask students to work in pairs to do exercise 4P39

answering any questions. For other numbers, students have
to turn the direct speech to the reported speech ( with she ... )
