Spend a few minutes revising previous lesson. Get
pupils to play Bingo, using the places in the
neighbourhood they have learnt( bookshop, sweet
shop, supermarket, bakery, pharmacy, cinema,
school)

<b>II. New lesson:(25’)</b>
<b>3. Listen and tick: (10’)</b>
a. Pre-listening:


- T looks at the books and sets the scence:
<i><b> How many colums are there?</b></i>


- We are going to listen to two dialogues and tick the
correct picture.



- Ask pupils to look at the pictures to identify the
shops and objects.( 1a. sweet shop, 1b. bookshop, 2a.
some books, 2b. some pens. 3a. a supermarket, 3b. a
bakery. 4a. some vegetables, 4b. some drink) Check
understanding. Then ask them to read the questions
and guess the answers.


b. While-listening:

- Play the recording few times. Ask pupils listen and

- We are going to complete the sentences, using the

appropriate words to complete the answers.


- Ask pupils to work in pairs.

- Ask pupils to do the tast independently.
- Ask pupils to swap their answers.


- If there is enough time, invite some pairs to act out
the dialogues.

- Ask them to read the line of the lyrics aloud.Check

- Play the recording all the way through. Ask ss to do
choral and individual repetition of the song line by
line until they get familiarized with the pronunciation,
the stress, the rhythm and the tune of the song.


- Play the recording again and get Ps to sing along
with the recording.


- Divide the class into two groups, one sings the
<b>questions and the other sing the answers . </b>


Listen again to check.

song Let’s go…The class may sing together, clapping
hands or doing actions.

- T tell ps that they are going to learn to ask for and
give reason.


- Ask Ps to open their book on page 242 and look at
the pictures.

context in which the language is used. Ask them
questions such as: Who are they? ? What are they

<i>Then Mai makes another suggestion. In picture c,</i>
<i>Tony asks Mai for the reason and Mai give the</i>
<i>reason. In picture d, the three of them go to the</i>

- Play the recording more than once, if necessary, for
ss to listen and repeat. Do choral and individually
repetition, pointing to the characters speaking.


<b>- Play the recording again for Ps to listen and repeat.</b>

And another to answer Because I want to see the
animals.Ask pupils to say the question and answer
chorally and individually. Repeat the procedure with
the other rows in the table.


- Ask Ps to practise in pairs, one asking the question
and the other giving the answer, using the prompt in
the bubbles and pictures.


- Select some pairs to demonstrate the task in front of
the class. Monitor the activity and other help, if
necessary.

sentences and read the text. Identify the places they
want to go. Remind the pupils that we use than when
making comparisons. Then they wask them to read
the questions and write the answers. If necessary, get
pupils to work in pairs.

- Set a time limit for the task and offer help, if
necessary.

- Prepare pieces of paper with names of places and
put them into a box. Divide the class into groups of
three.Ask two groups to go to the front. Group 1
should draw a slip of paperfrom the box and say Let’s
go to the…Group 2 should ask Why do you want to
go to the…?Group 1 then answers Because we want
to… After that, the two groups swap roles. Then
invite another two groups of pupils to the front and
<b>continue. </b>

- Tell Ps that they are going to practise saying words
with one, two, three and four syllables.


- First, explain to pupils what a syllable is.Then put
the four taget words on the board, using vertical lines
to divide the syllables.


- Play the recording and ask Ps to repeat a few time.
Then put the words on the board, play the recording
and ask Ps to repeat a few more times. After that,
write the sentences on the board.


Play the recording a few more times and let Ps say the
sentences , paying attention to the target sounds.
- Do choral and individual repetition of the sounds,
words and sentences until Ps feel confident.


- Get some Ps to perform in front of the class. Check
as a class and correct the pronunciation, if necessary.
<b>2. Listen and circle. Then write and say aloud. </b>
<b>(10’)</b>


- Tell Ps that they are going to listen to the recording,
circle the correct options and then write the words in
the blanks.


- Give them a few seconds to read the sentences in
silience and guess the words to fill in the gaps.


- Have P listen to the recording and circle the


appropriate options . Allow them time to do the task
independently. If necessary, have Ps listen to the
recording more than once.

rhythm and the intonation of the chant. Show Ps how
to chant and do actions.


- Divide the class into groups of four and call two
groups to give a demonstration: one group chants the
questions, the other chants the anwers.


- Get groups to sit opposite of each other and practise
chanting and doing acting. Go around offering help, if
necessary.


- Call three groups to front of the class to chant and
do actions. The rest of the class claps along to the
<b>rhythm </b>
