► Amorphous Transformer
The Amorphous transformer is a power conversion equipment and a High Efficiency Energy and Power Saving Transformer
which reduced the rate of no-load loss more than 75% comparing to the existing transformer due to the adoption of
amorphous metal in steel core instead of the existing grain oriented silicon steel.
► Amorphous Metal
The Amorphous metal is an amorphous magnetic material created from molten metal which is mixed with Fe, B, Si and
others through a rapid cooling process(106 /sec)
- The array of atom is irregularly arranged into amorphous state like liquid state (Random structure)
- Due to the advantage that atom’s rotation is easy to cope with the variation of magnetic field, amorphous metal reduced
the hysteresis loss more than a silicon steel with crystal structure
- Amorphous metal have the high natural resistance (3 times higher than silicon steel) and the thin thickness of material
(about one tenth of silicon steel) enable amorphous metal to reduce the eddy loss
• Hysteresis loss: When a magnetic flux passed through a steel core, friction loss occurred
between Magnetic particles
• Eddy loss: When a magnetic flux passed through a steel core, a loss occurred from an
eddy current
• No load loss: Energy loss resulting from the primary side of transformer is powered
regardless of load existence. This loss always occurs in steel core in
energizing condition
• Load loss: Variable loss with load ratio in the transformer winding. This loss is propotioned
to square of load ratio. This load loss is zero in case of no load
A Hysteresis curve decides the main characteristics of a magnetic material and the cross section of a looped curve shows a
hysteresis loss.
Because the coercivity of amorphous metal is less than a silicon steel and due to the high permeability of amorphous metal
comparing to a silicon steel, decrease hysteresis loss in natural.

• Miniaturization : Reduced overall dimension by a special winding structure
• Low Heat Generation
- Require the smallest space for installation
- Decrease secular variation of the winding & insulating materials causing by passing years
- Enable minimization of rising temperature in winding to increase capability for overload
• According to loss reduction, get the operation & maintenance cost of the transformer
reduced and make transformer life more extended
• The excellent magnetic characteristic in the high frequency and harmonics band provide
high efficiency and miniaturization

- Reduce heat emission by power consumption, prevent global warming
