SUMMARY:
In Vietnam today, the pressure of learning on children is the issue that parents are most
concerned about by some alarming cases of depression, stress or worse, suicide due to
learning pressure. There will be many opinions that the cause starts from the parents and the
school. Although, we cannot fully blame the school or the parents for being too strict on
imposing any rules on students or their children just because they want them to succeed.
However, in today's society, amid the pressures that come with their life and themselves;
Many parents have moved from the psychological hope of their children's success to doing
everything they can to force their children to succeed. Everyone has their own reasons for
this. According to the statistics of doctors and scientists, most of the cases that have occurred
in the past are the result of parents' pressure and high expectations, which do not match the
skills and interests of the children. Even in those cases, foolish intentions are not inherently in
the minds of the children, but excessive pressure from their parents has led to a number of
psychological problems, manifested in different stages of teenage to adulthood.

AIMS:
The reason is because parents' misconception about creating learning pressure for their
children, because the boundary between the two sides - positive pressure and negative

pressure - is very thin, easy to backfire, It is very dangerous for children's psychology and
negatively affect their future. So this project is our voice - it will replace the voices of the
children who are facing or have been through it, telling parents and mothers to understand the
difficulties that children face. throughout the journey to school. In order for parents to
understand their children, knowing that the learning environment is the same as the working
environment, there are inevitable pressures. Let them be free to choose goals for the future.

TAGET AUDIENCES:

The audience we want to target is parents from 30 - 50 years old. The right age can update
information from social media enough to understand the project we want to convey to them,
and that age is considered the parent of the next generation - a generation that currently great
and open minded.

PROCESS:
I.

Look for informations
In any case, if you want to make a project, you need to understand the topic, the
problem that we have to do: the source, the cause, the agent, the positive and the
negative (by what both have its sides), measure,...
First, we look for information on "topics" on online newspapers, blogs, social
networks. After that, we will conduct a small survey of students at greenwich
University using the questionnaire. We learn, refine the information, highlight the
most important issues and put them into the questionnaire, surveying students' views
and perspectives on those issues.

II.

Selective and statistical
Once the survey has been completed, we begin to select and collect student responses,
process data and create charts. Besides, we also select the information that we have
found before to include in statistics and conclusions.

STATISTICAL DATA FROM QUESTIONNAIRES
1. Time that you was faced with the heaviest pressure from your family
Most students said that the time when they were under the greatest pressure was at high
school, the time was almost no longer under pressure at the time of University/ College.
And the astonishing number of 9 of 49 students are surveyed said that the period of
Primary School was when they were under the greatest pressure, equal to the number of
University Entrance Exams. Thereby, we can see that Vietnamese children have been
under pressure from their families very soon.

2. Problems
Students say that the pressure they have experienced is seldom cared for by their
parents, their parents only care about their grades but accidentally neglect their
children's obsessions. Besides, being compared to the children of neighbors,
friends or colleagues of parents is also a common occurrence in their past.

3. Being set up by parents in the future (Job, Workplace, University, Highschool,
…)
A happy number when asked if children have been predetermined from their
future, the number of "No" exceeds the number of children who answer "Yes".

4. Talking, listening and understanding

You can see that parents can still listen and understand if you will say it, but it is
still a significant number of parents who do not care what their children say. And
very few parents are patient enough to find out what their children want to do.
5. Two side of creating pressure on children – positive if it’s right way and
negative if it’s wrong way
The pressure to create the right success if it is positive pressure, can see the
number of children who choose “Yes” and “No” answers are nearly equal, and
when we refine the information of the previous questions, the results shows that
most children who are listened and understood by their parents will assume that
positive pressure is something that should be included in part of their study life,
and the number of children who dare not speak to their parents or parents don't

care them said negative pressure is terrible, they don't want it to exist in their
study life anymore. In addition, a few children choose the "No" answer as children
who are concerned by their parents, listen to and understand from a young age,
their lives are almost entirely from school and class pressure. Their parents are a
source of motivation, and they can absolutely succeed and control the future, and
dreams.

6. Interested in learning
Since then, children who suffer from invisible negative pressure give birth to a
wrong measure, learn to deal with teachers, with grades and with parents. They
may be able to achieve high scores as their parents want, but when asked what
their favorite interests, subjects or professions are, they are very confused, because
before they get what they have not from their interest but from the "request" of
parents.
7. Conclusion
The short survey shows that the pressure is not really bad if we know how to
balance and control them when putting them on children. Children say the

pressure is very good for their schooling journey, if it is balanced and positive for
their education, because they say they never have to be in a heavy state and fear if
they do not meet the requirements of their parents, because their parents are
always their source of motivation, instead of being scolded, parents encourage and
"deal" with them with what they like. For example, a student told us that when he
was young, his parents used to deal with him with the toys he liked whenever he
got bad marks, his parents said "if next times you can achieve excellent results,
you can choose a toy you like and we will buy them for you, boy", gradually that
will boost the desire to learn for children, their study is not coping or pressure,
III.

that is motivation.
Design
1. Color pallete
We proceeded to search for available projects on this issue but did not, so we
decided to set up the project on our own. Our colors are light (for positive
messages) or dark colors (for negative messages), because the target audience
is parents, we don't plan to follow the traditional direction that the product for
parents has to be a little adult-oriented, which will do the opposite, using fresh
colors, gradients or holographic to simulate the words of the children to their
parents.

2. Sketch
Once the color palette is available, we look for ideas, our campaign is intended
to be small illustrations attached to a message to adults, each team member
will start sketching ideas. of each person.
OPTION1 (Positive message): The poster with heart illustration (Lam Thi
Tu Uyen)

OPTION2 (Positive message): The poster with two hands – the hand of
mom/ dad is under the hand of children (Le Hoang Minh Quan)

OPTION3 (Negative message): The poster with a child pointed a gun at
his head (Nguyen Thanh Duy)

OPTION4 (Negative message): The poster with a hand is controling a
puppet (Pham Minh Tuan)

IV.

OPTION5: The brochure that have information about topic, include 4
illustration of 4 poster to make the connect (Lam Thi Tu Uyen)
3. Design
After sketching and through editing, in consultation with the instructor, we
began to conduct design on a computer using Photoshop or Illustrator.
Print
We send the completed blueprints to the instructors and are corrected for color,
contrast, size, alignment, ... and are approved for test print and final printing.

PROBLEM:
In the process of doing we have encountered some difficult problems
 At first, when choosing a topic, we were afraid that we would get mixed opinions
because it was a sensitive topic and aimed at parents.
 When sketching ideas we encountered difficulties because we were afraid of not
conveying ideas that were inadequate, misleading, because 2 of our 4 members were
not good at hand drawing and drawing with software.
 When surveying, there will be cases of students who do not cooperate, answer
through the speaker and not read our questions, which makes us very confused.
 When designing with software, we had difficulty dividing the layout, the position of
the components in the design, choosing the font, choosing the colors, choosing the
filter, contrasting poorly, the font did not match the image. photos, design plans to
make the connection.
 When conducting a test print, we had no problem with the font and font size but had a
problem of poor contrast in the design, because the colors on the computer and the
printout were very different.
 The most important thing is that each member's way of working asynchronously
creates an inefficient teamwork. It took us nearly 3 weeks to adjust each member's
working style and performance.

RESOLUTION:
 We had to refer to a lot of documents on newspapers, blogs,... to get accurate data,
enough to convince viewers.
 We help each other find ideas and outline them.
 For the unqualified surveys, we chose to eliminate, but when the number was too
high, we were forced to retake the survey, and to follow the surveyed students, after
the survey was completed. Checking right there, there are still answers through the

speakers but the number is insignificant.
 We had a lot of help from the instructor to complete the design and print, he corrected
us for the layout, contrast and balance of the design.
 We had to reallocate specific jobs, set specific deadlines, and redistribute the work to
each member, even though the amount of work was uneven but we finished it by the
deadline.
