LESSON 3
I. Objectives
By the end of the lesson, students will able to say, recognize and write words in the
-ig family
Note: Disable student can identify /ig/
II. Vocabulary
Dig, fig, big
III. Teaching aids
E-board, computer, CD track
IV. Procedure
Warm up
Play game: Clap the board

Review the words
Learn the sound

Hold up the picture “ fig” and ask “What’s this?”
Write the word “fig” under the picture and explain for students repeat “fig”
Show the picture “ big” on the board, read , have students repeat.


Call some students repeat.
Write the word “dig” under the picture and explain for students to say
Have stusents repeat several times.
Write the wordsfig, dig, big on the board.
Ask one students go to the board underline “ig” and pronounce it.

Sing

Introduce the song about the sounds “-ig”.
Play the recording for students to listen all the way through.
Play the recording, pause after each line for students to sing.
Ask students to sing and point to the “ –ig” and the words on their books.
Have students sing several times.

Ask students to look at the picture in the bottom of 48
Find the words with “-ig”.
Say the words “ dig, big, fig” in random; one read and one find
Turn the role

IV. Procedure
Warm up
Play a game: Slap the board

Have students look at teacher and identify which sound is being whispered by
teacher
Listen and point

Asks ss look at the pictures and asks “What do you see in the pictures?”
Look at the book and point to the correct picture that you hear
