General safety

Follow all the rules are applicable on site in accordance with local legislation

•


The working area must be clean, clear of obstacles and marked out.

•

If needed, a temporary barrier of plastic chain and warning sign should be set up

Safety on site

to prevent access of unauthorized personnel.
•

Check that the earth connection is done and is effective (all ground cables have

the connection screws tightened)
•

Safety of people

Make all the electrical connections before powering up the equipment

The installation team must wear protection gear:

PCM cables
•

PCM cables go into connection modules from the left of the module.

•

PCM cables must be connected to earth at both ends. Two cases are possible:
- drain connection to earthing pin of connection module
- cable braid connection with tie wrap with metallic braid.

Jumpers
•

Jumpers go into connection modules from the right of the module.

•

The drain of jumpers must be connected at both ends.

•

The cables to be used for jumpering:

- for 120 ohm: L904 1 pair
- for 75 ohm: Flex3 1 coax.

U shaped support for 24 connection modules and a label holder.

Description

The support is a 449 mm long Euro profile alu rack that allows the fixing of 24 high

connection modules and a label holder at 18 mm pitch. It can be mounted on the
aluminium rail of wall frame (screws and nuts supplied), on a flat smooth wall with kit
(89581) 1AD 02844 0001, or in a 19” rack with kit (89583) 1AD 02845 0001.

Function

Support for U rail for the attachment of connecting modules; support for cables and
jumpers.

Description

The wall frame consists of a flat 2200 mm aluminium section type IDC, a huge capacity
vertical cable way, 5 vertical and 2 horizontal plastic rings for jumpering. It can be
mounted on a flat smooth wall with 2 special supports, or between the floor and ceiling
with an adjustable support from 20 to 1000 mm with the use of expansive pegs. A
grounding kit is also supplied.

Function

Ensures the connection between 2 cables (same or different types) with the possibility
of measurement, disconnection, protection and easy modification of interconnections.

Description

These modules consist of an insulating body (blue) supporting 10 pairs of fork selfstriping contacts. Frames with wire-passage channels in front of each contact are

attached on both sides of the body. The lower part is equipped with a system for simple
clipping to the standard frame or U shaped Euro profile. A system for grounding of
drains is fitted to the modules; each pair is separated by a grounded shield. In front,
each module is fitted with a pair of 1/2 pivoting cover, with bicoloured two sided labels,
one side white, one side red.
