RULES
FOR THE
PLURAL
1) Majority of nouns , to form their plural, we add “s”
Example:
boy
boys
Car
cars
2) Nouns ending in : SS- SH- CH- X and O, to form their plurals we need to add : ES
Example:
kiss
kisses
Brush
brushes
Watch
watches
Box
boxes
Tomato
tomatoes
3) Nouns ending in “y” preceded by a consonant, to form the plural, we need to delete the “y” and add : “ ies”.
Example:
country
countries
Fly
flies
4) Nouns ending in “f” or “fe”, to form the plural we delete the “f-fe” to add the particle: “ves”.
Example:
shelf
shelves
