Germany is a state in the heart of Europe.
It has 80 million inhabitants and an area of more than 350 000 square
kilometres.
The capital is Berlin with more than 3 million people.
Germany is a beautiful country.
You find all kinds of landscape: the seaside (the Baltic Sea and the North
Sea) in the north – and high mountains (the Alps) in the south.
There are quiet lakes, long rivers and deep forests, and wonderful islands,
too.
Many tourists come to Germany every year.
The biggest cities with many sights are Berlin, Munich and Hamburg.
Germany has a lot of industries: car and ship building, the food industry, the
optical and chemical industry and other.
And you find a modern agriculture.
The state consists of 16 parts with their own governments.
The head is the chancellor – Angela Merkel.
Germany belongs to the European Community.
