TIPS FOR A HEALTHY DIET
*Always eat breakfast. Skipping breakfast is a very bad habit.
When you get up in the morning, your body does not have enough fuel to properly
start your day. It is extremely important that you get a breakfast filled with protein,
carbohydrates and healthy fats. Not only does it jump-start your metabolism, but it
also gives you the energy that you need to get through the day.

are more likely to maintain a healthy weight. Some experts believe eating breakfast
keeps your metabolism running because skipping meals causes the body to kick into
'starvation' mode. It's more likely that people who regularly eat breakfast also make
good dietary choices the rest of the day.

Breakfast should include protein and

plenty of fiber; the combination will help satisfy your hunger and will keep you feeling
full until lunch time. The protein can come from low-fat meat, eggs, nuts or dairy
products. High-fiber foods include fruits, vegetables and whole grains. A healthy
breakfast doesn't need to be extravagant or take a long time to prepare. Try
something simple like a hardboiled egg, whole grain toast and 100% fruit juice. And
there's nothing wrong with a bowl of whole-grain cereal with berries and low-fat milk.
* Go vegetarian a few times a week at least. Vegetarian meals are extremely healthy
for any age group. These dishes taste delightful and have less fat and are more dense
with nutrition. A vegetable soup or some grilled vegetables with some oil and not much
salt together with a grilled t steak or fish and two pieces of fresh fruit.
* Know your carbohydrates. Many people believe that all carbohydrates are bad for
you. This is completely untrue. Complex carbohydrates are actually necessary for your
brain and body to successfully function. Understanding the differences in these can
help you learn which choices to make the next time you are at the grocery store.
* Choose your fat intake wisely. While some fats are extremely important for the
body to have, others can quickly turn your health into a downward spiral. Eating
healthier fats, such as those found in many fish, are great for your body. Try to avoid

eating overly processed fats, such as those in margarine or salad dressings.
* Make sure your healthy eating tips diet includes adequate amounts of Vitamin D and
calcium. These two nutrients work together to prevent you from losing bone mass as
you age, which is a real problem for many women. Drink plenty of milk and go out into
the sun for at least ten minutes a day.
Physical activity is also important for health. You should get at least 60 minutes of
physical activity every day.
Eating healthy does not mean following a super-restrictive diet. But you have to
