You can make your writing more descriptive by using adverbs. You can add - ly to some
adjectives to create adverbs. bad – badly; amazing – amazingly; tight –tightly. The cat was
lazy. / The cat stretched out lazily on the windowsill.
Rules for forming adverbs by adding – ly:
1. Add –ly to most words: neat neatly
2. Drop the e and add ly to others: terrible

often include: sometimes, often, usually, occasionally, and always and so on.
