Queenstown
For people who love adventure sports,
Queenstown is the place to go. In the winter,
you can go skiing in the nearby Remarkables

mountains, and in spring and summer you
can go walking, mountain biking or try many
water sports on Lake Wakatipu. Queenstown
is also the home of bungee jumping and if
you feel confident and aren’t frightened, you
can try it on the Kawarau Gorge Suspension
Bridge. You jump 43 metres down towards
the river, and with over 35,000 people
jumping every year, it’s one of the most
popular places in the world for this sport.
Lake Taupo
The beautiful Lake Taupo is the largest lake
in New Zealand. It is also the top of one of
the most important volcanoes in the world,
which erupts about every 1,000 years. The
first eruption 26,500 years ago was the
largest in the world.
Nowadays, it is popular with tourists, and
over
2 million visit every year. In
summer it’s great to swim in the lake, go
fishing or walking.
Auckland
The biggest city in New Zealand has a
population of 1.4 million people. People often
say it is one of the nicest places in the world
to live, and it’s also a great place to visit.
Some of New Zealand’s most beautiful
beaches are near the city and it is one of the

world’s most important cities for sailing with
harbours on both the Tasman Sea and the
Pacific Ocean. In fact, there are over
