All of us know this sentence: “Spare a rod and spoil a child”. Most of the parents think it is right.
Corporal punishment is considered a necessary and desirable method to teach children. However,
the subject of using physical punishment is open to question. In my opinion, I think parents
should never punish their children in this way.
The first reason for disapproving corporal punishment is that children will not obey their parents.
Their parents always teach children how to keep calm, change their behavior when they are
angry but when parents use corporal punishment, children will think their parents lied.
The second reason and more important for my idea is that parents who often use physical
punishment can instill fear, rage, avoidance in their children. At that time, parents and children
are not closed to each other because children always avoid their parents. Furthermore, some
children take many actions against their parents.
The last reason and the most important is that the children who are punished frequently are easily
become spoiled. Children tend to follow their parents’ behavior, so they will behave rudely to
people around like their parents to them at home. Many of them don’t obey their parents and
become spoiled because they are very tired of being punishment heavily.
