I. PHẦN LÍ THUYẾT
a. Trước khẳng định, sau phủ định và ngược lại
Peter helped you, didn’t he?
He isn’t here now, is he?

b. Một số trường hợp:
- Không dùng danh từ riêng (tên riêng) trong câu hỏi đuôi, mà phải dùng đại từ nhân xưng thay thế.
Mary is beautiful, isn’t she?
Chứ không được dùng Mary is beautiful, isn’t Mary?
His parents are old, aren’t they?
- Khi chủ từ trong mệnh đề chính là anyone, anybody, no one, no body, none, neither thì chủ từ trong câu hỏi đuôi là
they.
No one knows, do they? Neither of them complaint, did they?
- Nếu mệnh đề chính có các từ phủ định như neither, no, none, no one, no body, nothing, scarely, barely, hardly,
seldom, never, no longer … thì câu hỏi đuôi ở thể khẳng định.
Nothing was sold, was it? Peter hardly goes to the party, does he?
- Nobody / No one + V(khẳng định) …, auxi / modal (mang nghĩa phủ định) they ?
Ex: No one went out, did they?
- Everyone /everybody/ someone/anybody ……………,……….they ?
Ex: Everyone is at home, aren’t they?
- Everything/ something/nothing , it ?
- Nếu chủ từ là this, that thì chủ từ trong câu hỏi đuôi có thể là it, he, she.
Ex: That is a very interesting film, isn’t it?
That is your new boy friend, isn’t he?
This is a very beautiful girl, isn’t she?
- Nếu chủ từ là these, those thì chủ từ trong câu hỏi đuôi là they
Ex: These books are new, aren’t they?
- Hình thức câu hỏi đuôi của I am … là aren’t I? hay am I not?
Ex: I’m late, aren’t I? (Hay: I’m late, am I not?)
- Hình thức của câu yêu cầu là: will you?

- Câu đề nghị là: shall we?
Come in, will you? Don’t do that, will you?
Let’s go for a walk, shall we? Let’s not study now, shall we?
- Let’s + V(-to), shall we ? Ex: Let’s go out, shall we?
- (Please +) V(-to) , will you ? (Câu mệnh lệnh) Don’t speak, will you?
- I am ……, aren’t I ?
- This / That (is ……), (isn’t) it/he/she ? Ex: This is your boy, isn’t he?
- These / Those (are ……), (aren’t) they ? Those are your cats, aren’t they ?
- If the main clause is invitation (lời mời), tag question must be "won't you?"
Ex: Take your seat, won't you?
- There is / are ……, isn’t / aren’t there ?
