I.Objectives.
-After the lesson Ss will be able to know more about the life in
the city.the diffences between the city and the country side.
- To drill Ss reading skill with the new words: see movie, eat
out, read books in the public library, play table tennis

- Ask Ss to do the exercises B 2+3 in the work book.
3. Presentation:
A.Warm up.
-Ask ss to play the net work about the city and the coutryside:
Living in city.
*Pre-reading.
-Introduce the lesson and ask Ss to answer the questions about
Hoa. ( B1 page 150)
a) Where did Hoa live? in the city or in the countryside?
b) Where does she live now?
c) Does Hoa hate the noise and the traffic in the city?
d) What does she dislike most?
*While - reading.
-Ask Ss to scan the reading to underline the new words:
-Give the meaning of new words:
Help each other: giúp đỡ lấn nhau Far too expensive: quá
đắt
Living in the
Countryside.
Eat out: đi ăn hàng Socialize: giao lưu, giao
tiếp với bên ngoài
Public library: thư viện công cộng After all: rút cuộc,
sau cùng

-Read the new words aloud:
-Ask Ss to read the reading again and answer the questions: (
work in pairs)

*Post –reading.
-Ask ss to read the reading and then asnwer the question about
the reading.
1) What did Hoa and her friends do when she goes
out?
2) Why did Hoa rarely go to see a movies or eat out in
the evening?
3) What did she prefer to do ?
4) Why couldn't Hoa read books in the village?
5) How many books did the public library in the city
have ?
6) Did Hoa get used to living in the city ?
4 .Consolidation:
-Ask ss to give the main content of the reading : living in the
city.
5.Home work:
-Ask ss to do the exercise B4 ( p98)in the work book.
