I. Warm-up: Kim’s Game
- Sticking the poster on the board.
- Setting the game.
- Asking Ss to tell some rules of the game.
- Asking Ss to work in 2 groups.
- Correcting.
- Praising the winner (the group with more correct
words).
- Asking Ss about some words to lead in.
II. Pre – Speaking :
1. Pre – Teach Vocabulary : Eliciting – Modeling ….
1. Sparingly (adv) = economically (adj) (synonym):
1 cách tiết kiệm - “What’s the synonym of
“economically?”
2. (To) dispose = to make arrangement
(explanation): bố trí, sắp sếp
3. herbicides (n): thuốc diệt cỏ
4. pesticides (n): thuốc trừ sâu


5. fertilizer (n): phân bón
“Look at them! What are they? …………”
6. (To) release = (to) let something / someone free
(explanation): phóng thích, thả.

2. Set the scene : Brainstorming

3. Task 1: Ordering
- Sticking the poster on the board.
- Running through the sentences.
- Giving instructions:
“Look at the poster! How many ideas are there in Task 1?
Do you think they are important for us to do? There are some
actions that should be taken to protect our oceans. Put them in
the order of importance.”
- Asking them to work in individuals  to share the answers 

- Giving correct answer.

III. While – Speaking: Task 2
- Asking Ss to read some threats to the health of the oceans.
- Sticking the poster on the board.
1. Beaches are filled with plastic bags, pieces of glass and
cigarettes butts.
2. Whales and Sharks are still hunted for food, medicine
and other products.
3. Explosives are used to catch fish and other sea animals.
4. Oil is spilled from tankers.
- Running through the threats.
- Asking Ss to discuss the consequences that might occur and
offer some possible solutions.
- Giving an example:
A. Beaches are filled with plastic bags, pieces of glass and
cigarette butts. This makes the sea polluted and endangers sea
plants and animals.
B. We should clean beaches and tell other people not to
litter them.
- Asking Ss to work in pairs.
- Going around monitoring the class.
- Giving help if necessary.
- Asking Ss to act out in from of the class in pairs.
- Listening to each pairs and asking the other students to give
more solutions if possible.

IV. Post – Speaking: Task 3 (Retelling)
- Asking Ss to report to the class what their group has discussed.
- Having Ss work in groups.
- Giving them time to prepare for their reports.
- Asking Ss to present in groups.
Suggest Answer:
My groups has discussed the threats to beaches which are
now being polluted with all kind of rubbish such as plastic bags,
pieces of glass and cigarette butts …etc. And we think that in
order to recue beaches, we should clean them up and at the
same time tell everybody not to litter them ………
- Correcting.
- Praising the winner.

V. Homework:
- Asking Ss to practice speaking about the protection of the
school, class or house environment, using “should (not)”
(written on a piece of paper to hand in to get more marks).
- Presenting in 2 groups.
- Listening to the report and
giving their ideas of agreements
or disagreement.
