Unit : 5 Lesson : competitions. (P1+2)
I. Aims :
- By the end of the lesson, the students are able to scan reading for specific information.
- By the end of the lesson, the students are able to skim reading for general ideas.
II. Lexical items :
- controversial - celibate - degradation - feminist
- purity - refrain - disqualify - object to
III. Structures :
- Breaking any of those rules disqualifies the contestant
- They have particularly objected to swimsuit rounds in competitions.
IV. Teaching aids:

Games: which game? – word search
- Divide the class into two groups
- T shows Ss pictures of a football game, a
game show, an athletics or swimming
event (one by one) and ask them to name
the activities or programs.

used to describe the common feature of
these activities?
- T tells Ss that it is the topic of the next
unit
- T tells SS to open their books to page 64
and ask them to find words in the word
