<i><b>1.5. Business Opportunities</b></i>

The advent of the internet has revolutionized the way businesses operate. It has provided numerous advantages and opportunities for businesses to expand and thrive in the global marketplace. The internet provides businesses with a vast platform to reach a global audience. It is easier for businesses to expand their operations and sell products or services internationally. Besides, the internet enables businesses to engage in cost-effective marketing and advertising strategies. Online advertising is often more affordable than traditional advertising mediums, such as television or print media. Moreover, the internet facilitates efficient communication and collaboration. With the advancement of technology, businesses can communicate with employees, customers, and other stakeholders instantly and conveniently. Additionally, the internet has opened up a wealth of information and resources for businesses. reflection and self-assessment. These applications can help individuals monitor their habits, manage their time effectively, and analyze their personal growth journey. This self-reflection, combined with the internet's resources, enables individuals to improve their understanding of themselves and make necessary adjustments to reach their goals.

<b>II. Disadvantage of using internet in human life</b>

The Internet is undoubtedly one of the most powerful creations of our time, offering various benefits to its users. However, it also has several disadvantages that cannot be ignored. In this article, we will discuss the complete list of disadvantages of the Internet

<i><b>2.1. Be addictive</b></i>

The Internet can be addictive, leading to excessive use and neglect of other important activities. Spending too much time on the internet can lead to addiction, which can hamper workplace productivity and personal relationships. A recently published report by market research firm DataReportal (Singapore) estimates that there are currently 4.8 billion social network users worldwide, and this number is expected to increase to 4.9 billion by the end of 2023. East Asia is the region with the largest number of social network users in the world, with about 1.2 billion people. Countries with low internet usage tend to develop more than countries addicted to the internet.

The strong development of information technology with many Internet-connected devices such as smartphones, tablets, TVs... has created opportunities for people to access a vast world of information. However, the current concern is the problem of Internet addiction, especially among children. According to the World Health Organization, in the short term, "addiction" to using smartphones can only affect the academic performance of children. Children spend time playing games, so they no longer have time to focus on studying, physical and health training, and they are not interested in the world around them. Many children addicted to games play continuously, leading to an imbalance in their biological clock. Some violent games may make game addicts more aggressive.

<i><b>2.2. Compromise personal privacy</b></i>

The Internet can compromise personal privacy, as personal information can be easily accessed and shared without consent. Hackers and unauthorized persons can track your online activities and steal your personal information, putting you at risk of identity theft. This can lead to serious consequences such as identity theft, as hackers and other unauthorized individuals can track online activities and steal sensitive information. One of the largest data breaches in the world was the attack on Equifax in 2017. Equifax is one of the world's three largest credit reporting companies, and this attack exposed personal information of over 143 million users, including names, addresses, social security numbers, dates of birth, and driver's license numbers. The attack was believed to be carried out by a Chinese cybercrime group and caused outrage among millions of users worldwide. Equifax had to compensate victims of the attack with billions of dollars and faced numerous investigations and criticisms from government agencies and the public.

Therefore, it is important to take measures to protect personal privacy online, such as using strong passwords and avoiding sharing sensitive information on public platforms.

<i><b>2.3. Physical health issues</b></i>

Excessive use of the internet can lead to physical health issues such as eye strain, headaches, and back pain. It can also lead to an unhealthy lifestyle and obesity. Repetitive movements required by computer use can also cause carpal tunnel syndrome. In the long run, internet addicts may become isolated from society, with symptoms such as anger, anxiety, and depression. A study in China showed that up to 0.7-1.2% of the population who use the internet excessively experience emotional changes. In Japan, it is 0.5-0.8%, and in Australia, it is 0.7% of people who experience psychological and emotional changes after using the internet excessively.

</div><span class="text_page_counter">Trang 10</span><div class="page_container" data-page="10">

<i><b>2.4. Social isolation</b></i>

Overuse of the internet can lead to social isolation and a lack of face-to-face interaction with others. Although social networking sites can help you find new connections all over the world, you may find yourself disconnected from your real-life friends. Excessive internet use can lead to a lack of productivity and poor time management skills, which can impact one's personal and professional life. It is important to maintain a healthy balance between online and offline activities to avoid the negative effects of excessive internet use.

When engaging in online activities, traditional values and cultural norms can be impacted. For example, social media platforms can promote unrealistic beauty standards and materialistic values, which can lead to a distorted sense of self-worth and a focus on superficial qualities. Additionally, the anonymity of the internet can lead to the spread of hate speech and cyberbullying, which can undermine the values of respect and kindness. It is important to be aware of these potential negative impacts and to actively work to promote positive values and behaviors online. This can include engaging in respectful and constructive online discussions, promoting diversity and inclusivity, and using social media in a way that aligns with one's personal values and beliefs.

<i><b>2.5. Breeding ground for cyber criminals</b></i>

The internet can be a breeding ground for hackers and cyber criminals, putting personal and financial information at risk. Cyber criminals can use this information to steal identities, commit fraud, and make unauthorized purchases. Victims may also experience damage to their credit score, difficulty obtaining loans or credit, and even legal issues. In addition, the emotional toll of having personal information stolen can be significant, causing stress, anxiety, and a sense of violation. It is crucial to take the necessary precautions to protect personal information and minimize the risk of these negative consequences.

In conclusion, while the internet has many benefits, it is important to be aware of its disadvantages and use it responsibly.
