1.1.1. Discuss the growth and the development of the sports industry inVietnam
The growth and development of the sports industry in Vietnam is expressed through 2 phases. Phase 1 (from 1975 - 2000) and phase 2 (from 2001 - 2021)
Phase 1: From 1975 - 2000, building and developing the sports industry
On January 9, 1971, the Vietnam General Department of Sports and Physical Training was established, this department has become the leading agency for sports activities nationwide.
Regarding facilities, during this period Vietnam was still facing difficulties after
going through many wars. Constructions for physical training and sports activities are only small in scale, with simple equipment, and the service for competitions is still limited. However, in 1966, the buildings and facilities for sports activities were fully equipped, ready to serve large-scale domestic and international tournaments.
Regarding training a team of athletes, after 25 years of construction and
development, the goal of training athletes in Vietnam is key and long-term training. In 1992, among the 11 sports, there were 3 key sports: football, volleyball, and athletics.
