1. Product and Process writing:
Similarities.
– Steps:

• Pre-writing (provide writing resources)
• While- writing (Produce writing work)
• Post- writing (Feedback)
– Aims:

• Introduce a form of writing.
• Students practise the writing skill.
– Teacher’s role:

• Motivator.
• Resource.
• Feedback provider.

disadvantages of product /
process approach:
a. Product Approach:



Advantages:

– It saves time.
– The tasks may be easier as Ss can
copy from the models.




Disadvantages:

– Ss have passive practice.
– Ss may not have enough time to
finish the tasks to meet the aim of
the lesson.


b. Process Approach:



Advantages:


It motivates Ss’ activities and
creative thinking.
– Ss can form their writing skill and
writing styles.
– Ss can finish their works at home.



Disadvantages:
It is time-consuming
