Treatment varies, depending on symptoms and degree of displacement, if any.
Most cases of asymptomatic spondylolysis and spondylolisthesis with mild
displacement will not progress. Children with displacement greater than 25%
should avoid rough sports. Symptomatic children with displacement may benefit
from immobilization. Decisions about treatment should be made in consultation
with an orthopedic surgeon.
