SLIPPED CAPITAL FEMORAL EPIPHYSIS
Goals of Treatment
Regardless of the acute or chronic nature of the presentation of a slipped capital
femoral epiphysis (SCFE), the goal is to identify and stabilize the disorder early.
The degree of the slip becomes progressively greater over time. The likelihood of
complications and a poor outcome is directly related to the degree of
displacement of the epiphysis and the time from symptom onset to intervention.
