TOPIC1: PLUAL NOUNS
(SỐ NHỀU CỦA DANH TỪ)

STT

Muốn thành lập danh từ số nhiều ta bỏ a/ an rồi thêm s/ es.
1. Thêm es:
a.Sau nhữ ng danh từ tận cù ng bằng: O,X,S, SH, CH,Z.
Ex: a hero → heroes
Ex: a box → boxes
Ex: a class → classes
Ex: a dish → dishes
Ex: a watch → watches
Ex: a buzz → buzzes.
Lưu ý: a stereo → stereos.(ta không them es vì trướ c “o” là mộ t nguyên âm.)
b. Sau nhữ ng danh từ tận cù ng bằng y : trướ c y là mộ t phụ âm ta đổi y → i
rồi them es.
Ex: a factory → factories
Ex: a story
→ stories
Lưu ý: a boy → boys. (ta không đổi vì trướ c y là mộ t nguyên âm)
a toy → toys.
a day → days
a key → keys
c. Sau nhữ ng danh từ tận cù ng bằng “ f , fe” ta đổi f , fe thà nh “ v” rồi thêm
“es”.
Ex: a leaf → leaves
Ex: a wife → wives
2. Thêm s: khác với các trường hợp thêm es.
Ex: a table → tables
Ex: a car → cars
3. Ngoại lệ: Danh từ số nhiều không thêm s/ es:

1.1.Hành động lặp lại hay thói quen hiện tại/ sự thật hay chân lý
Always: luôn luôn, often: thường hay, Usually: thường khi, Sometimes: thỉnh
thoảng, Hardly: hiếm khi, Never: không bao giờ. Once a week: mỗi tuần một
lần.
VD: Peter often goes to school every day.
2. 2. Hành động xảy ra theo các buổi, ngày, tuần, tháng, mùa:
In the morning/ afternoon/ evening: vào buổi sáng/ chiều/ tối
On Mondays/ at weekends: vào các thứ hai, cuối tuần.
In spring/ summer/ autumn/ winter: vào các mùa xuân/ hạ/ thu/ đông.
VD: It rains a lot in summer in Vietnam.
