Comparative forms of adjectives
(Review)
1. Short and Long Adjectives:
Short adjectives: (tính từ ngắn) là tính từ 1 vần
Ex: big, small, tall, thick, hot, warm…
Long adjectives: (tính từ dài) là tính từ có từ 2
vần
Ex: useful, expensive, modern, beautiful, …

Ngoại trừ: Những tính từ sau đây cũng được xem
như tính từ ngắn.
+ Tính từ có 2 vần, tận cùng là “y”:
Ex: funny, easy, pretty, happy, lazy, crazy…
+ Tính từ 2 vần, tận cùng là: “et”,“er”, “ow”,
“le”
2. Comparatives:
a) Short Adjectives
Dùng dạng so sánh hơn của tính từ để so
sánh 2 người / vật/ địa điểm.

Qui tắc chung: Thêm “er” sau tất cả các tính từ ngắn.

Tính từ 1 vần, tận cùng là 1 phụ âm, trước phụ âm
là 1

Tính từ 1 vần, tận cùng là “e”, chỉ thêm “r”.

Tính từ 2 vần, tận cùng là “y”, đổi “y” “i”, rồi thêm
“er”.

Tính từ 2 vần, tận cùng là: “et / er / ow / le” thêm “

- Only these following adverbs (the same form as
